Zoo Med Turtle Tuff Splashproof Halogen Lamp

I bought this bulb for my turtle in November and its still going strong. I havent had any problems with it. I leave it on for 12 hours a day.

this bulb does what you would expect it to do, plus amazon has a great price for now these things, might as well buy a spare while you are buying.

Less than 1 month and bulb is not working... I have to order immediately another one as i dont want my turtle to suffer. Waste of money

The hours of usage is not accurate. I keep my bulb on for my RES turtle probably 10-12 hours a day, and the bulb only lasts me probably a month till I have to replace it. Ive tried both the 50 and the 75 watt, both are the same. Ill get like 300-350 max use time. 2500 hours doesnt even come close

As an order picker at Amazon, this item from Zoo Med rates five stars because of its outstanding packaging and ease of handling. Several years ago, Fossil watches came in colorful tins that lit up the mods, adding excitement and color. This feat of packaging, comparable in its impact, deserves an award. First and foremost, the cardboard box is sturdy and tough. This gives me confidence that your lamp is in solid, economical protective packaging. Forget flimsy! Second, all the highlights of the item are there on the box in living vivid color: it is 50 watts. Third, three different reptiles are shown basking on the front and two sides of the container. Fourth, the company logo in the upper left corner is clear and bright, while the company information is placed on the bottom of the box for reference. Fifth, the two petite holograms in the lower left of the box add additional luster and pertinent information. The only thing missing is a Saint Bernard.

Exactly what I needed to keep my turtles happy. This bulb seems to last and Ive been using it for couple months now without any issues what so ever.

They dont last forever but they work great. Our turtles (and the catfish and goldfish) splash a lot but the bulb trucks on like its no big deal. The lap is safely away from the water and rarely gets wet but I have no complaints. The turtles seem to enjoy basking and they get plenty dry and warm under it. My only complaint is that the Petco near me rarely carries them so I order multiplies here on Amazon. I show up the day their trucks arrive and theyre Lways out or didnt order them. If youre shopping around Ive yet to see a retail have the same prices Amazon has and its worth it to buy in pairs to have a spare on hand.

This works great! Fits into a normal light socket. Every time that I turn on the light my turtles move under the light. The light will have to be pretty close to provide ample heat. Works great, seems like it will last for quite a while. I have had mine since December (writing this on February 23rd). I do not use mine every day, so that could contribute to the length.
