> 24 hourMade some decent arrow tips out of this stuff as well as a couple of throwing knives. Melted down in my furnace easily and took a good shape when just heating to fold.

> 24 hourMy son has his own forge and makes knives, so he was super happy to receive this from me. The size of them is perfect for his needs and he said they worked great in the forge.

> 24 hourMy son and his uncle have a hobby of knife making with a home made forge. They stated that this was hard steel that was able to be worked into a knife.

> 24 hourWhen this arrived I started thinking to myself how can I rate flat bar steel? Well as someone who welds and fabricates quite a bit of stuff around the house I can tell you this is very good quality. It arrived with a light coating of protective oil to keep it good during shipping. It was wrapping in wax paper and 3 layers of bubble wrap to protect it. When you have a company that takes the time to do their packaging like this you know it is going to be good. I mainly got this so my son could attempt to make his own knife. He has collected knives for several years and has wanted to attempt to make his own. After drawing a rough sketch that would fit the steel, he has been in the workshop most of the night working this metal. So far it is easy to work and he is making pretty good progress with it. Hopefully he will get it done soon and I can post some pictures of it for you all to see.

> 24 hourThese are good quality steel and are good for knife making or just to use as metal stock for projects. The steel is easy to work with in terms of cutting and forming. 3 of them were perfectly flat, the 4th was not. It can be bent back flat, but it tends to spring back to the curve pretty easily. I guess thats an indicator that the steel is good. Its not so good if you want to make a straight knife. Maybe I can find another use for the bent one. I like how they came packaged and were all rusty or overly oily. Perfect packaging in my opinion. Overall would recommend for knife projects where you dont want to scrounge up a piece and just want something made for that purpose.

> 24 hourThese were nice and flat with accurate dimensions. They were wrapped in oil paper and were also oiled with a smooth clean finish. Pretty good for flat stock.

> 24 hourI am not a knife-maker -- yet! But these steel bars are exactly what I wanted. They appear to be just as they are advertised, and Im happy with them.

> 24 hourSteel was carefully and securely wrapped in oil paper. A few scratches on some of the bars. The dimensions (see pictures) are slightly less than the 12 x 1/2 x 1/8. Two bars were pretty straight, but the third one had a slight bow. These bars are going to be cut, ground, heat treated, etc, so none of theses things IMHO are major issues, but I point them out for anyone who is relying on specific dimensions for their project.

> 24 hourI’m new to knife making and bought these blanks to practice some of the basics on. I have a friend who has made a few knives and told me to order this steel. So far I’ve only cut out a basic shape with my angle grinder and that part went OK. This being my first time using steel to fabricate a knife I have nothing to compare this particular steel to. So far all I can say is that I have not run not any problems using it.
