I really like these socket racks. At least for now. They work really well, and allow me ot organize my sockets fairly easily. I purchased the 3 piece set, with quarter inch, three eighths inch, and half in drive racks. Design: The half inch rack is perfect. I cannot fit more than 16 half in drive sockets on the rack, so that is sufficient. However the three eighths in rack could hold several more (probably 4 to 6). And the quarter in rack could hold (and should hold) a whole lot more, probably 24 to 26 to fill it out reasonably well. Yes, you can buy 6 additional pegs, but the price is exorbitant. For the price, they should include the cheaply made plastic pegs to fill out a rack with the initial purchase. It would be nice if they included magnetic attachments that could slide on the rail facing the back of the rail. That way you could stick them to the outside of your toolbox, or any other metal surface. Construction: The rail is aluminum, and therefore nice and rigid. The pegs that hold the individual sockets are plastic with a metal ball bearing detent, and (presumably) a metal spring behind it. This works pretty well, and you can slide the pegs along the rail as you wish (and need). You can also remove or replace a socket with one hand, which is nice. The aluminum rail means you can carry the rack around with you and be assured they will not sag and sockets fall off. The plastic pegs are probably very suitable and appropriate for the overall operation, but for the price they should at least include the additional three eighths and half inch pegs t hat you will probably need and either buy, or deal with wasted space in the toolbox. The plastic pegs have a visible seam line where the part was molded, but it doesnt seem to affect the function. Function: These work really well. The aluminum base rail is thick and stiff enough that it does not flex at all, even picking up a full rack of heavy sockets. The sockets click on and off the pegs nicely and even large heavy sockes are held securely. I like the fact that they are easily removed and replaced.

Bought these for my toolbox and they work great. They fit all of my sockets and I have extra clips if they break. They’re pretty sturdy and heavy.

This is a great product, I love how easy it is to move and rearrange the socket holders. However, the end caps fall off easily with no way to secure them. This makes the socket holders easy to slide off accidentally, repeatedly making a frustrating mess. A simple end cap that can secure to the rod would have been great. Edit: the seller offered to send locking end caps free if charge! The new caps seem to be durable enough and came with several replacements anyway. Im very impressed with their customer service.

    Greater than one week

I bought this to use with my existing pegboard. The first thing I noticed is that as soon as you hang it on the pegboard, the plastic end cap comes loose. The end caps slide down to far over the piece. Ideally the opening in the middle of the metal should stuff where the endcap starts but that’s not the case so the end cap comes off every time you hang it up. Without those end caps, the bits will slide off the entire metal piece. They are not snug at all so I don’t have much faith that they will actually stay put for very long. It will be annoying to have to constantly do that.

These really great for the money. This is my 3rd set of these (1st. SAE, 2nd.metric, 3rd.Hex sockets). The only reason these are not a 5 star review from me is, that you cannot buy additional clips for a reasonable price. So many possible configurations of socket sets. For example, after putting my deep well and short 1/4” metric sockets on a rail... I needed 2 more clips.... it was more cost effective to just purchase another whole set. Quality is good. It even holds 1/2” drive deep well sockets without falling off. If they offered additional/replacement clips at reasonable price, these would be perfect!

Ive bought a couple of these socket holders now. The 1/2 rack holds my set of extended metric impact sockets much better than the cheap holder that came with them. For 1/2 sockets, they provide plenty of holders, but if you have a full set, you may run out of room on the rack. Plus, with a lot of heavy sockets, you wont be hanging this on the wall. Overall, however, a great solution to keeping everything together and organized.

These socket holders are a fantastic deal for the money. I checked out some at Lowe’s and the ones they had were $22 each and just cheaply made, the others were even higher and just overkill. These are solid, well built, the socket holders slide smoothly and it hold more sockets. I got the locking caps separately to hold the sockets on better than the rubber end piece. I bought red for “standard” and blue for “metric”, highly recommend and would buy again.

I needed a way to organize sockets in a toolbox that gets moved around daily. These rails were ideal since 3/4 drive clips are available. I did pop rivet the rails into the box, and they’re holding up to the daily use.
