> 3 dayI have 6 or 7 of these socket rails. They work well, except for the larger/heavier 1/2 drive impact sockets. Those fall off sometimes. But they are nice to be able to cut down to the right length and grab a whole rail of your box and bring those over to wherever youre working. No more going back and forth guessing the right size. Kinda pricey considering you can get steel spring clip cheapies for 0.99$ from harbor freight, but the anodized colors are nice for identifying metric/SAE

17-11-2024Seems a little pricey but seriously...look at the money some of us guys spend on organizing our tool drawers. Some will spend $100s - $1000s on the proper brand with custom foam to which I reply (publicly) I would never while (privately) wondering how I can swing the change to get my sockets to sit at the correct 10 degree angle awaiting my call to duty. A little off topic, I suppose; but, my point here is that if you just want something to hold your sockets you can find that elsewhere for a few $ less. However, it looks good, is thoughtfully designed, is adjustable to your needs, sockets are held securely by the actual spring loaded ball bearing in each clip, and...did i mention that it looks good? Olsa: If youre interested...Get rid of the description of durable socket holder made of quality material. Seriously, any tool at HF can and probably does use this description. Most of us have been bitten by this claim in the past. Conversely, I suspect your typical customer is pre-programmed to believe that anodized aluminum is one of the coolest materials on the planet. Highlight this feature. Overall, Im very happy with the socket rail.

Greater than one weekWhile these may seem a bit pricey, they are definitely high quality! The rail itself isnt flexing/warping after loading it up with a bunch of deep sockets. Every socket latched into place very nicely -- not so hard that you struggle with it, but not so weak that youll have to worry about them falling off. I know someone else said the rubber end caps coming off easily was a negative, but Im going to consider it a positive -- I swapped a few clips from SAE to the Metric set, and this made it possible to do so. I havent had a problem with them just falling off on their own yet. The sockets do slide pretty easily on the rail, but they only slide when I push them, not on their own. I will definitely be purchasing some more of these, now that I have 3 red and 3 blue and have them all loaded up, being able to see what exactly is left of the new 311 piece set I just bought. My only complaint would be as someone else mentioned -- itd be nice to see different combo packs sold, like (2) 1/4 with (1) 3/8, etc. These are too expensive to buy a bunch of single rails to complete your set; I may as well just buy the combo packs of each again.

> 3 day[NOTE: I purchased this product/wrote this review when it was being sold for twenty-nine bucks- which was high already. I now see it listed for forty! As much as I like the product, I would not pay forty bucks for em if they were made of solid gold!.] O-K, I had tried some socket rails from that cheap Chinese tool place [Rhymes with arbor eight]- I mean, how can you screw up something as simple as a socket rail, right? Well, that place can! I needed something else, FAST, for my portable toolbox, as the 80 or so sockets I carry in it were becoming a mess. I didnt want any plastic crap; and I wanted something which would be space efficient, to fit in my skinny socket & ratchet box. Enter these Olsa Tools socket rails. At first, I was put-off by the price- I mean, your tool organizers shouldnt be worth as much or more than the tools that they will be holding, right? But after looking around a bit, I kept coming back to these. I liked the way they look; and I liked the fact that you can buy extra clips for them (Albeit, at extortionist prices), because they NEVER (They being any socket rail manufacturer) give you enough clips on the 1/4 and 3/8 rails.... So I bit the bullet. Well, let me tell you, I LOVE these things! The clips slide easily on the rails, with or without sockets; They look GREAT; The sockets go on and off the clips easily, yet they are held securely, so that they do not fall off. The aluminum rails are sufficiently heavy to be quite durable. Although the clips are plastic, they seem sturdy enough- hopefully they will last. In short,as the other reviews state, these are simply the BEST socket rails I have ever seen. I just wish that they would sell all of the sizes seperately; and that the prices were more reasonable. I think (if Im not mistaken) that these are made in Murica [USA], so naturally, you make something in a country which has the second highest corporate income taxes in the world; high cost of doing business; and very high labor costs, it is going to cost way more than necessary. These things are simple enough that they could be made anywhere, easily for a third or less of the price. As much as I love em, I do think that they are ridiculously priced- so as to discourage most non-pros from buying them. But I am glad that I bought them, and will be buying more in the future (You cant go back....). But Cmon! $7 just for a little baggy with 6 extra clips in it?! I do wish Olsa Tools great success with these, and do hope that they will lower the price in the future, as well as offer these in various colors, such as green, blue and gold. (Not only for aesthetics, but that way, you could use one color for metric sockets; one for standard, etc.). In time, I guess Ill get over having to spend nearly $80 bucks to organize 80 sockets (In a toolbox which is older than I am!)- Im sure that my 25 year old Craftsman sockets appreciaye it though, and I have to say, these things really fancy-up my otherwise crappy portable tool set! Most of all though, my sockets are readily and easily accessible, which is the important thing, and theyre not falling all over the place and getting lost, nor ending up loose in my toolbox. tl;dr version: A quality (albeit expensive) product which works great.
