I love this thing, but I wanted to take this space to warn others: DO NOT put anything hot on it. At all. Im not taking any points off it because the instructions do actually tell you this, but I didnt anticipate how little itd take to ruin it. I set down a microwaved TV dinner on it, in its plastic container and on a thick paper towel, and 10 minutes later the mat would no longer lay flat. I used a powerful hair dryer on it and left it under some heavy books for a day, but it was never the same. Ended up trashing it and getting another. Again, no points off; that was my fault. But boy, when the instructions say no heat, THEY MEAN NO HEAT.

The things I like best: the numbering doesnt start at the edge as Ive seen on other mats. Double-sided means it should. last twice as long. Only thing Id change: some line differentiation extending beyond the grid - if you are using the0 line to square, you cant clearly see the fractions.

Ive used this mat with exacto knives and freeform rotary cutters for a couple months now, cutting different weights of card stock for intricate designs and fabric. I am extremely satisfied with how this mat holds up. It really does work as described, the cuts seem to heal themselves. I literally can not see where I have cut on the matt. Having the measurements is very helpful, and the fact that this matt is double sided means I should get plenty of use out of it. A quality made product, I highly recommend this matt to anyone looking for a cutting matt.

As a crafter expanding my horizons, i LOVE this mat as it, in conjunction with other tools has assisted in opening a door to new adventures. There is an initial chemical smell upon opening it, but hey, of course there is, because it is a chemical based product, so dont let that be part of your review unless you were expecting rosemary and thyme, which would be bizarre to begin with. I have a small crafting space, so the variety of sizes allowed me to select the perfect mat for my space. I am also struggling with the realization of aging, arthritis and joint pain, so being able to use the rolling cutter instead of the pinking shears is helpful, and this mat aids in that process. I cannot attest to how long it will last, but for now, after an initial heavy use project, it appears brand new.

It is great the only thing that needs to be reevaluated is packing for shipping my was bent and it hard to fix it warm it and had to weigh it down it still has a little bow in it loose in the box it was bowed

Note- I use snap off blades to cut, not xacto blades. This factor may greatly change the durability rating and review I am giving. Difference is I am always using a new to near new sharpness. Using an xacto blade forces users to stick with a blade for longer and causes more pressure to be used. So do know this review may be drastically different due to that factor. My usage amount for one of these boards lifespan was 3 months with 8 hours a day usage. And tiny frequent cuts. I had about 1,644 pieces of tiny designs. I used it till there was really no option. Pro - every zone of it was used once one spot was overused and started flaking. Just because one spot is bad it doesnt make the whole thing go to crud Once one side is bad the other side is like brand new! Stays in place on the surface but easy to move and slide This is one that isnt so expensive that you feel it let you down. This does the job at a level I expect should for the price. I know I am going to do heavy use and will eventually destroy any cutting mat. It takes a bit to get to the flaking or tiny pieces starting to come out. Thats what happens when you carve things with a blade. Cons- Doesnt use metric In an ideal world these should never go bad but this is an even pay off. So this may not be one to go bragging to everyone about as I dont expect it to do much other than last awhile. It does allow me to afford to put more money into what I am cutting with and material being cut woth a comfortable work area. User difference info - I do use olfa brand blades for my snap off blades In a dewalt brand holder. No arthritis issues at all with those hours. And the blades are where the true investment to be towards. Circle cutter on it was ok -. grip isnt strong enough to not slide a bit while having to hold pressure down and turning of the device. I dont love or hate this board, I am happy with it because it logically makes sense that it has reached the point of needing to be replaced. I used it a lot and these can only take so many cuts.

As an avid scrapbooker, I used it as soon it was received to make personal Fathers Day cards for my sons. They needed trimming, so I used the mat. I used my exacto knife and there wasnt even a mark made on the mat. Measurements were, as advertised, indicated on both sides. The quality of the mat is excellent. I was also impressed with the receipt of a follow-up email with instructions on its care (which are really simple). It was a real pleasure knowing that I was dealing with a company who has the customers satisfaction as a primary concern, even post purchase. Its quality assures me that it will belong-lasting - and thats very appealing to me as I have lots of projects in mind!!

What a great cutting mat! I was having a lot of difficulty in cutting thick paper. This mat makes the knife blade cut easily and also seals itself after cutting. Mat is actually 10 1/2 x 13 5/8 x 1/8 thick. The cutting area of 9 x !2 is what is described in the title. The cutting area on the mat has a printed ruler around the border in 1/8 increments with 1/2 squares on the mat. The cutting surface is the same on both sides.Various angles 30, 45, 60 and 90 are also printed on the mat.

I do a lot of crafts, and this is exactly what I needed to protect my desk. It stays in place, very durable and Im very happy with my purchase.
