I bought this with the hope of protecting the top of my workbench when Im cutting balsa or covering materials. My wife who is an avid quilter suggested it for me. Im not sure how long it will last but its pretty cool the way it self heals! Ive also found that the various lines on the mat come in handy. No negatives to report thus far.

This is a good quality mat. I love the size of this mat, the markings that extend outside declared measurements, and that it is double sided. It did have a strong vinyl odor when it arrived, but that dissipated fairly quickly. It lies flat and the measurements are accurate. I bought this mat to cut fabric, and for that I have to say Ive used other cutting mats over the years that worked better. The surface is a little too slippery. It doesnt grip the fabric like a dedicated fabric cutting mat does, so you have to be careful about how you move your cutting guide because your fabric may not stay in place. However, as long as my rotary blades are sharp and Im careful with my rulers, its okay.

I use this mat for cutting fabric with a rotary cutter, and it’s great. Can’t see the cut marks at all. It came flat in a box, not rolled, and there’s no odor like some mats have. Seems expensive, but I’m glad to have it.

Before i purchased i read the reviews for this, the good and the bad. I have to say, i have had no problem with damaging the mat. i had to cut a painted fabric this weekend which took more pressure cutting through the material and the mat held up beautifully. So much better than my old plastic mat that was cut up and starting to snag on delicate and knit materials. Ive had the mat a few weeks now and i love it, its well worth the money and better than others i have used.

This was a lot larger than I had anticipated (though that was stupid on my part for not paying close attention to the dimension), but it works great, and actually is perfect for what I need. Because it is so large, I can actually use it - more or less - as a table top for all my other craft equipment (I do 3D paper crafts); this way, they wont scratch up my actual table top. It heals quickly (most of the time, I cannot even tell I had made a cut), and is perfect what it is supposed to do.

It is nice to cut your fabrics for sewing. Makes it easier that you do not have to watch the scissors as closely as I did before. You still have to watch where your cutting, but not as closely.

I purchased this for a paper folding class, but then didnt use it for said class. I have a much larger board for sewing projects but it is too large for easy transport. This one is great for that and handily tucks into an easily-managed craft bag. I like this size because for most smaller projects you are not going to get near or over the edges of it with your rotary cutter or ruler. Wish I had it a few years ago!
