Perfect size and great value for the money!

A couple of years ago I jumped back into quilting after 30 years off. A friend recommended this self-healing mat, a rotary cutter and quilting rulers for cutting pieces. Oh how my life has changed. In just a few days, a couple hours a day, I cut out all of the pieces for 120 blocks. Using the mat, its ruler lines and angle lines, made this process so easy! I cant believe I waited so long. After cleaning, the cuts on the mat pretty much disappeared and the mat looked new again. I dont know what it will look like after a few more quilts, but so far, its great.

I purchased this for a paper folding class, but then didnt use it for said class. I have a much larger board for sewing projects but it is too large for easy transport. This one is great for that and handily tucks into an easily-managed craft bag. I like this size because for most smaller projects you are not going to get near or over the edges of it with your rotary cutter or ruler. Wish I had it a few years ago!

Serves our hobby needs perfectly

I do a lot of cutting and squaring up blocks and had cut right through my 15 year old mat, Id used the front, the back and all 8 corners. I looked for the cutting mat with good reviews and guarantee and now I have it!!! I put a new blade in my rotary cutter and it is a dream to cut up to 10 thicknesses of fabric. Fabric does not slip on this mat, I can use either side, its flexible and yet very sturdy. Excellent product, and I will enjoy it a long time. Thank you!

It arrived on time in excellent shape. I love it. Thank you. This cutting mat arrived in excellent shape, one thing I really appreciate about is no skunk odor, I have ruined a mat putting it in the sun to try to get rid of the odor. Even walking by them at our local store makes my breathing worse. An asthma attack if I do not get away. The people at Olfa are rude when you try to talk to them about it. There is discussion on Quiltville about mats and odors. It is very nice to use, I wish I had ordered a larger one, but this will do for now.

I bought this 2.5 years ago. Why am I writing a review now? Because I recently had an issue with the product. I remembered having bought this due to all the great reviews and great price so I reached out to the company and explained my issue. They replaced my mat in less than a week! This is a company that truly stands behind its product. Dont hesitate to buy it. Product works great and they stand by it.

As a crafter expanding my horizons, i LOVE this mat as it, in conjunction with other tools has assisted in opening a door to new adventures. There is an initial chemical smell upon opening it, but hey, of course there is, because it is a chemical based product, so dont let that be part of your review unless you were expecting rosemary and thyme, which would be bizarre to begin with. I have a small crafting space, so the variety of sizes allowed me to select the perfect mat for my space. I am also struggling with the realization of aging, arthritis and joint pain, so being able to use the rolling cutter instead of the pinking shears is helpful, and this mat aids in that process. I cannot attest to how long it will last, but for now, after an initial heavy use project, it appears brand new.

The cutting mat arrived on schedule, along with the rotary cutter. For the quilting project i purchased the cutting mat for, it was a beginner small quilt so, for which a large percentage of the project was done before I ordered and received the subject cutting mat, so I only did a couple of cuts for the borders, Thus I only needed to use the cutting mat a minimal amount and dint really test the self healing property. As far as I did use it, it performed perfectly. I really liked the quilting class, so expect that I will to make good use of this mat on future projects, and will likely need additional, larger mats and other quilting tools.
