> 3 dayI really like having lines on both side of the mat. I am currently moving my sewing room so I have not had much time to actually use the mat. As a quilter it is almost unbelievable that a mat will last 10 years but you can also tell it is a quality product. Just wanted to add that when I first took the mat out of the clear paper that was on it -there was a rotten smell. On the paper it said you could wash it with equal parts of white vinegar and water, then wipe it dry. I did not happen to have any white vinegar at the time so I put it out in my open garage for a few days and the smell went away. So if you get one that smells dont get upset once it is aired it will be ok.

Greater than one weekLove the size and the grid lines on this mat but I cut fabric daily as a business and after a few days the mat started flaking during cutting. Im not sure if this is a default of the mat however..I am very hard on them and cut fabric 8-9 solid hours a day. This is an excellent mat design and very accurate. would be a great mat for someone that cuts fabric and other materials just for hobby purposes. If I just cut occasionally I would not hesitate to buy again

> 3 dayI love this thing, but I wanted to take this space to warn others: DO NOT put anything hot on it. At all. Im not taking any points off it because the instructions do actually tell you this, but I didnt anticipate how little itd take to ruin it. I set down a microwaved TV dinner on it, in its plastic container and on a thick paper towel, and 10 minutes later the mat would no longer lay flat. I used a powerful hair dryer on it and left it under some heavy books for a day, but it was never the same. Ended up trashing it and getting another. Again, no points off; that was my fault. But boy, when the instructions say no heat, THEY MEAN NO HEAT.

> 3 dayI hesitated to buy this particular cutting mat because it is one of the more expensive ones out there. Finally realized that I would be using this item a great deal in my leather craft work, so decided to ignore the other cheaper ones available and purchase this one. I am glad that I made that decision, now that I have had this mat for some time. Very satisfied with it.

> 3 dayI only give this mat 4 starts because when it arrived it smelled HORRIBLE. It had a very very strong plastic scent. With me being pregnant I was concerned the smell was never going to go away. I left it outside over night and by the next morning the smell had diminished but I could still smell it. I left it over night one more night and the smell has gone away completely. I will say that this mat does feel and look very durable.

> 3 dayI saw reviews before purchasing claiming the mat is not self-healing. However, it is. The product is not magic. There will be marks, but the product is designed to not be as cut up by the mat expanding a little bit to push the cuts together to make it appear as if there are no cuts (although the cut is still there). If you dig/cut in hard, of course the mat will not be able to self-heal as well as if you cut regularly; same as if you cut on this mat for a long time. For what it is, it works extremely well. There was a slight smell out of box, but after airing out it was fine. I would recommend the product.

> 3 dayWhat a great cutting mat! I was having a lot of difficulty in cutting thick paper. This mat makes the knife blade cut easily and also seals itself after cutting. Mat is actually 10 1/2 x 13 5/8 x 1/8 thick. The cutting area of 9 x !2 is what is described in the title. The cutting area on the mat has a printed ruler around the border in 1/8 increments with 1/2 squares on the mat. The cutting surface is the same on both sides.Various angles 30, 45, 60 and 90 are also printed on the mat.
