Greater than one weekI use this mat for cutting fabric with a rotary cutter, and it’s great. Can’t see the cut marks at all. It came flat in a box, not rolled, and there’s no odor like some mats have. Seems expensive, but I’m glad to have it.

> 3 dayIf I learned anything from her it was that she was glad I bought the larger size, the 12 x 18 was not big enough for her, so decide before-hand and go with the large if in doubt. My wife said the pad made trimming to patterns flawless, easy, and fast. It says self healing and so it must be because she has cut on it and I dont see the tracks. She bought one of the wheel cutters designed with this kind of pad in mind. The pad seemed expensive to me, but a proper tool applied to the product whether it works on wood or fabric leaves its full value represented in the finished product. This tool measured up. The fact my wife loved the choice was a nice takeaway too.

> 3 dayAfter airing the product out and following instructions to clean the mat its working great and the smell has faded. I appreciate the seller reaching out to me immediately to share the instructions again to solve my original concern, I would have def needed them if they were thrown out by accident (keeping on file!) :). Very happy and pleased with this mat, the size and the quality. Thank you! My review is based on smell, wow! Its strong! I kept ours in plastic until I can air out or do as it suggests, clean in vinegar from time to time to restore its newness. Ive had these in the past for art classes and have aired them out just fine. Hope I can air this one out just the same because the smell is awful. Large mat, were excited to put it to use. No complaints otherwise, quick delivery and came with instructions on how to care for it.

> 3 dayI do a lot of work with utility knives and exacto-type knives in making costumes. This particular mat is REALLY tough and resistant to nicks and tears. The surface is impermeable enough to quickly clean up glue scrapes. What is great (and I didnt expect) is how easily this rolls when I want to store it. Suggestion for improvement: this mat has angles measured and separate graduations at inches and half-inches; it would have been great if metric units were included. When in use, it is the base for my craft workstation, and it is of course, recommended.

22-11-2024Note- I use snap off blades to cut, not xacto blades. This factor may greatly change the durability rating and review I am giving. Difference is I am always using a new to near new sharpness. Using an xacto blade forces users to stick with a blade for longer and causes more pressure to be used. So do know this review may be drastically different due to that factor. My usage amount for one of these boards lifespan was 3 months with 8 hours a day usage. And tiny frequent cuts. I had about 1,644 pieces of tiny designs. I used it till there was really no option. Pro - every zone of it was used once one spot was overused and started flaking. Just because one spot is bad it doesnt make the whole thing go to crud Once one side is bad the other side is like brand new! Stays in place on the surface but easy to move and slide This is one that isnt so expensive that you feel it let you down. This does the job at a level I expect should for the price. I know I am going to do heavy use and will eventually destroy any cutting mat. It takes a bit to get to the flaking or tiny pieces starting to come out. Thats what happens when you carve things with a blade. Cons- Doesnt use metric In an ideal world these should never go bad but this is an even pay off. So this may not be one to go bragging to everyone about as I dont expect it to do much other than last awhile. It does allow me to afford to put more money into what I am cutting with and material being cut woth a comfortable work area. User difference info - I do use olfa brand blades for my snap off blades In a dewalt brand holder. No arthritis issues at all with those hours. And the blades are where the true investment to be towards. Circle cutter on it was ok -. grip isnt strong enough to not slide a bit while having to hold pressure down and turning of the device. I dont love or hate this board, I am happy with it because it logically makes sense that it has reached the point of needing to be replaced. I used it a lot and these can only take so many cuts.

> 3 dayWhat a great cutting mat! I was having a lot of difficulty in cutting thick paper. This mat makes the knife blade cut easily and also seals itself after cutting. Mat is actually 10 1/2 x 13 5/8 x 1/8 thick. The cutting area of 9 x !2 is what is described in the title. The cutting area on the mat has a printed ruler around the border in 1/8 increments with 1/2 squares on the mat. The cutting surface is the same on both sides.Various angles 30, 45, 60 and 90 are also printed on the mat.

> 3 dayThe lines are there to ‘square’ your fabric cutting. I use this item to cut fabric. I see the vertical and horizontal lines to confirm cutting the line in a square. The bias line can also be seen.

Greater than one weekI hesitated to buy this particular cutting mat because it is one of the more expensive ones out there. Finally realized that I would be using this item a great deal in my leather craft work, so decided to ignore the other cheaper ones available and purchase this one. I am glad that I made that decision, now that I have had this mat for some time. Very satisfied with it.
