> 3 dayDoes your long-haired dog collect burrs and stickers and foxtails like boys collect trading cards? Mine do. Those little grey, rice-sized burrs are the worst. Cockleburrs, too. And corkscrew burrs, fox-tails, Spanish-needles, and...ugh. It used to take me 2-3 HOURS to get them all out after a long hike. Then my sister, the dog expert, clued me in to this stuff: spray it lightly onto the dogs coat, then work it down into the undercoat. Less is more. But work it especially into all the places you remember finding matts of burrs (how could you forget, right?). Even if they go into water, this stuff still works. When you get home, it will take minutes to slide out the few burrs that actually stick. What took me hours before now takes at most, fifteen to twenty minutes for two dogs. Is it safe? If you know horse people and horse products, they are crazy about safety. If its horse-safe, its probably even human-safe. Its pretty much just silicon. *WARNING* Do not do this inside or let your dogs inside the house right after you apply this or your linoleum floors will become skating rinks (<--seriously!).

08-06-2025Amazing is an understatement. I use this on almost every dog I groom. I always get compliments from pet parents that their dog is sooooo soft. Works great for working out tangles, mild mats, or as a finishing spray. I feel like it helps dry the coat faster too. I havent really used any similar products but feel like I dont need to as this product has no flaws in my opinion.

A Legacy More Than 125 Years in the Making
Every day at Absorbine is a celebration of a legacy that began with a truly extraordinary couple: Mary Ida and Wilbur F. Young.
A labor of love, they set out to find an alternative to the common 19th-century practice of “blistering” lame horses. Knowing there had to be a better, more humane way, Mary Ida developed a special blend of herbs into an essential oils tincture, and Wilbur rounded out the formula with a few more natural ingredients using knowledge he gained working part time for a pharmacist.
