> 3 dayI used a while spray bottle in one sitting. My girl is not that tangled. I was going to order a gallon, I’m glad I didn’t. Maybe it should read Just for Horses. Horse hair is different than Poodle hair. I re-read the packaging to make sure it was for dogs also it was. Not impressed.

Greater than one weekIve tried other detangle products, but I keep coming back to Absorbine ShowSheen Hair Polish & Detangler. I know my horse, Abednego, stands in his stall pondering ways to tangle and muss his mane and tail just to vex me. So this is my weapon against his sneaky maneuverers. I spray it on and wait a minute, then Im able to brush out his mane and tail without filling the brush with his hair. I am very happy with this product and will continue to use it.

12-06-2025I am a dog groomer and have used this for YEARS! makes blowing out thick undercoats and matts so much easier and leaves the fur soft and flowy. Ive used this on a few poodles that come in looking like they will need to just be shaved to get down to anything but after a deep clean bath, this spray, and a bit of patients, the knots and matts are minimal and manageable. I also use this every time I bathe my aussies at home, really makes for an easy groom and brush out with little stress to the dog.

A Legacy More Than 125 Years in the Making
Every day at Absorbine is a celebration of a legacy that began with a truly extraordinary couple: Mary Ida and Wilbur F. Young.
A labor of love, they set out to find an alternative to the common 19th-century practice of “blistering” lame horses. Knowing there had to be a better, more humane way, Mary Ida developed a special blend of herbs into an essential oils tincture, and Wilbur rounded out the formula with a few more natural ingredients using knowledge he gained working part time for a pharmacist. The result of their teamwork is Absorbine Veterinary Liniment, which has been loved by horse owners for over 125 years.
