While I was doing research for the purchase of a new AVR to replace my Onkyo with an HDMI board failure I noticed something and that was many guys were using these external cooling fans by AC Infinity. Using one of these would have saved my Onkyo unit. When youre spending a grand on piece of equipment you want to last a long time it only makes sense to spend an extra 80 bucks for something that will definitely extend the life of your expensive new AVR and do it automatically when you set the unit to Auto mode. When the amp gets to a certain temperature the fans kick in and moves the heat out, no input from you required. Build quality is very nice and is the standard width of most AV equipment so just set it on top of the device you want to keep cool and it blends right in and looks good doing it.

I have a marantz receiver and it was very hot

Mine worked great for a couple months then started having having issues, shipped me out a new unit right away

Sits in idle on top of my receiver (Denon AVR 6700H) in SMART Mode: turns itself on when it senses things are getting warm, dials it up when things get hot and shuts itself down as thing cool off. Oh yeah, and its silent except when its running on high -- which is pretty much never.

Some noisy junk! Sounds like a small air conditioner on top of my Marantz SR7012. Rediculous!

I ordered this because my receiver kept going into protect mode when I had my volume turned up loud for parties. It hasnt done it since purchasing and installing this unit. I leave it on the automatic mode where I see the light and how fast the fan is going just so I know its on because its so quiet. If youre having heat issues, I highly recommend this.
