Greater than one weekHad this thing for a couple months now and right away switched out to the 1 TB SSD and upgraded 16gb additional DDR ram. Ram was plug and play the 1TB swap took a little research and verified with a guy at Radioshack on how to clone the windows 10 install to the new hard drive. Runs great, fast startup. I dont game on PC but it is nice, functional, fairly fast, large capacity (after upgrade), low cost for all other reasons! Totally worth it

> 3 dayVery nice computer for the price. Easy to set up. Love the lighted keyboard. Not sure if there is a setting to keep the keyboard lighted longer. Its nice and fast loading.

> 3 dayI use it for home use and it does more than I need. I also use Microsoft Office. If your budget is around $400 you cant go wrong. Boots in about five seconds. It set itself up in about fifteen minutes. I took an 8GB RAM out of my old Dell Inspiron I5 (that only lasted just over one year before crashing) and it snapped right in. It was really easy. I just watched a short video on YouTube. Now I have 12GB but really dont even need it. I just did it because I could. It also comes with an hdd bracket if you want to expand that and it looks to be just as easy. As long as it doesnt crash like my Dell, its a great buy and $300 less and just as fast.

Greater than one weekI have been an Acer customer for about 10 years and never had an issue...until now. My daughter needed a new laptop before her Senior year, so I had no hesitation replacing her HP laptop with a new Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R14K 15.6 laptop from Amazon. She set it up but did not begin using it until school started August 2021. It has had very light usage; shes not a gamer and only uses it for school assignments and projects. Needless to say I was shocked and extremely disappointed it died on her on November 14, 2021. The screen is completely blank, but the keyboard is backlit and the fan is running so loud it sounds like its going to take off an fly across the room, so I know it is getting power. I contacted technical support through Amazon, and they transferred me to Acer. The Acer technician had me hold the reset button on the bottom of the laptop for 30 seconds and power it back on...NOTHING except the same black screen, backlit keyboard, loud fan, and nothing else. Considering weve had it less than 6 months, I thought surely they would send a replacement. NOPE...I was given a support ticket number, an email with instructions for how to send it in for repair, and to add insult to injury, I have to pay the shipping costs!

> 3 dayIm a long-time Mac user, but needed a Windows machine for a specific project and chose this one. Two initial impressions: 1) I HATE the trackpad - you can only press down on the front edge, not the whole pad. 2) Unless youve got good strong fingernails to slide into the tiny space between the keyboard and the lid, its quite hard to lift the lid to open the computer.
