Great laptop overall the 144Hz refresh rate is straight fire but it overheats way too easily if I want to run big games like fortnite note I am a competitive player I would have to run it at everything on low or off and at 50% graphics if I want 144fps with an extra cooling pad may I add.

Contrary to the product description this particular version of the Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop does not support the 802.11ac Gigabit Wifi standard. This particular model, unlike previous models does not use the Atheros Wifi chipset. This model uses an Intel chipset which is not compatible with the 802.11ac standard.

Running any sort of modern game will melt your laptop and coolers for laptops don’t work

I immediately set mine up to dual boot between Ubuntu (18.04) and Windows.

I’ve had this product for less than 45 days and am now having to ‘send it in’ for repairs. No help. No sorry. No concern that I’m out of town on business without a working computer. Thanks Acer. I’ve learned a valuable lesson.

So far so good. Ive had it for about a week now and its worked pretty well. The display is beautiful. It does run warm but all gaming laptops do. Mine has maintained acceptable temps for both the CPU and GPU. A cooling pad is certainly required but thats the case for all gaming laptops.

Laptop has already been sent back twice for repairs with 4 parts being replaced including both fans, motherboard, thermal paste and speakers. It gets the job done for playing fortnight on lower settings, but I wouldn’t push it with anything more detail then that. Not worth the price or the hassle of acer support.

    Fast and quiet

I like it but I had to under volt the cpu and partially the gpu because I felt it was getting too hot. Also the headphone jack doesn’t seem that durable, and the speakers are trash. Other than that it isn’t too bad for the money.
