> 3 dayIt plays everything I throw at it well enough, and the the display is great... At least, it would be if mine didnt arrive with a stuck pixel out of the box that Ive been unable to fix. Dont know if its just my luck or if its something to be worried about for other buyers, but for how much I spent, it is a real letdown.

> 3 dayThe laptop is great. Cannot get a better configuration for the money. But it does heat up and fast. I did not even try any VR yet, because I think that could fry it. And a cooling pad does not help that much. I would seriously consider getting a 17.3 inch next, for this reason alone. The screen is amazing and it is the only IPS with 144MHz I found. Overall ahppy with my choice, but this is for what I need.

> 3 dayI was really excited to get the 144hz laptop up and running and it was fantastic!...... but after about 45 minutes of play I hit random drops in gameplay and performance. It wasnt lag (40ms) or FPS (144) since they never moved. No matter how hard I tried I could not find the reason for the dip in performance. I set Overwatch to low settings, 2 different Ethernet cables on 2 different networks and the fans set to max and still the laptop seemed like it just gives up and it happens at random times. Closed everything running in the background just to be sure and it still did not run as it should. Way too much work to get a 3 year old game to run on low settings so I returned it. Save your money and look elsewhere for a gaming laptop or just build a desktop.

> 3 dayA decent gaming laptop when new, the cooling fans failed after less than a year of use, and due to the poor quality screws that came stripped from the factory, my toolkit couldnt remote the parts needed to repair the fans by cleaning or replacing them. Although the components themselves are reasonable, the middling QA means that if something does go wrong, and with laptops thats often the case, then youre stuck with a paperweight.

> 3 dayI bought this laptop after my PC stopped working and right out of the box the computer looked really nice. It was working fine until I tried to play Counter Strike which is where I started to see the problems. Randomly while playing my FPS would drop to 10-30 and then go back up. It was happening more often than it should sometimes 10 times per game. I checked the temperature of the computer to make sure it wasnt over heating and everything checked out so I decided to look up what was happening. I saw on the Acer forums that I wasnt the only one who was having this problem and that it has been happening to these computer for quite some time now without a solution. I contacted Acer and they gave me some things to try but nothing was working so I decided to return it. Other than that issue the computer ran games pretty well (besides when it was dropping FPS). Now you have to keep in mind this doesn’t happen to all the laptops. In fact I have a friend that has the same one and he says it runs just fine. So if you get one that work its work the money, but if you get unlucky and get one that doesn’t run well its a major hassle to try and get it fixed/return the item.

> 3 dayWhat attracted me to this laptop was the processing power and speed. I need a new laptop for work and this one checked off everything on my wish list (with the added HDD). I read all the reviews and heeded the warning about overheating so I got a matching laptop fan and this laptop is so fast, the resolution is awesome, the back lit keys (only come on when plugged in) look so cool. We are still getting to know each other but I have the highest hopes for the Predator. Admittedly it has been a while since I bought a new laptop I am a little starry eyed. I installed the HDD with help of a YouTube video - NOTE: inside the box with your power cord is a tiny bag of 4 screws this is for the HDD installation. I highly recommend.

> 3 daySo the laptop seemed fine for a short time of course it didnt start having issues till after my 30day return window. I have tried to get help with Acer. Apparently my 1year warranty expired within less than 30 days of owning the laptop & they want to charge me to have it looked at. I have been told its normal for the laptop to get hot. So 90+C is normal. It gets so hot it feels like im burning my fingers when i touch the laptop. I am upset i just wasted so much money i didnt have on Two laptops for gaming and they cant handle any game without getting insanely hot. Windows has also crashed on both laptops multiple times the one laptop started making a grinding noise and refused to turn back on. I bought two of these laptops around the same time so i didnt know they would do this. The other one some how has its warranty still but the other doesnt. (the one that says it has a warranty still they are repairing lets see if that works.) I just wish i could get my money back and get something better that doesnt over heat, Freeze up, and crash.
