The material that they use to make this laptop is not strong and you can crack the screen quite easily just opening and closing the laptop.

What attracted me to this laptop was the processing power and speed. I need a new laptop for work and this one checked off everything on my wish list (with the added HDD). I read all the reviews and heeded the warning about overheating so I got a matching laptop fan and this laptop is so fast, the resolution is awesome, the back lit keys (only come on when plugged in) look so cool. We are still getting to know each other but I have the highest hopes for the Predator. Admittedly it has been a while since I bought a new laptop I am a little starry eyed. I installed the HDD with help of a YouTube video - NOTE: inside the box with your power cord is a tiny bag of 4 screws this is for the HDD installation. I highly recommend.

Purchased this rig after extensive research and so far Im very happy with it. Laptop was overnighted in sturdy packaging. It took me about an hour to update windows and all the drivers, download discord and twitch and shut down all the unnecessary start up crap and clear the bloatware.

This will be the 2nd predator I have purchased. Both kids16 and 22 now have them. They are wonderfully fast the graphics are amazing! They also are windows reality ready so if you have VR you can connect it. I know 3 young adults with the same laptop and NONE would trade it for anything. Great quality! Definitely recommend for your young gamer.

Im sure that I just happened to get a dud, but I barely have used it since I got it because the screen flickers whenever I run anything on it. I can only game for 20 minutes at a time.

The screen casing is coming apart. The casing is thin, lightweight plastic and other than that, there are only two small metal pins holding the screen to the laptop. With the casing coming apart, the screen literally comes loose from the laptop. Given the price of this laptop, it should be better quality. We are arranging to send this in for warranty repairs, which I dread because of online horror stories about the repair process. The initial email response from Acer implies that we must ship the laptop at our own expense, which would be ridiculous given that it is obviously poor manufacturing. I will reach out to them to see if they will be providing a prepaid shipping label, or if I will be held responsible to pay for shipping their defective product back to them. I will update with details on the repair process.

Ive had this laptop for a year and a half. It gets pretty hot, but not too hot with a cooling pad. Installing a second hard drive was fairly straightforward.
