> 3 dayto start im a pc tech I bought this as a backup pc and I have to be honest this laptop is really nice it has midrange specs so it will play all your games well the build quality seems solid which i did not expect for the price point it feels quality the performance is great depending on how you have your power settings theres no lag no nothing just a nice smooth desktop performance the whole time and as a response to all of the negative reviews concerning the temps and throttling as long as you turn on cool boost in the acer predator program and or turn the fans on max settings while gaming and are in a cool place you wont have any issues most of these complaints i have seen are from noobs who dont realize thats part of laptop life to an extent and also are not turning the fan speed on max i would high recommend this laptop

> 3 dayFor the money you cant beat this laptop for gaming. 16GB of ram, a nvidia 1060, 144hz screen... Its why I bought it even with the overheating warnings. I gave this a few good days of game time and found that all games on any settings would send the processors temperature up to the high 80s and at times the 90s. Now this is in a hotel room with the AC on and me shaking from the cold. I also bought a cooling pad and still this didnt do much, but Im sure it kept it from tipping over the red. The GPU wasnt overheating. So this issue is with the cooling on the CPU. So after much annoyance, I finally noticed that the CPU was boosting to full throttle 3.4ghz, anytime a game ran, no matter the game or load on the CPU. That made no sense to me, as this being a laptop, why would u max a CPUs heat production if the speed wasnt required? So I found a program that was able to turn off the CPUs Turbo feature. This was a night and day difference in heat being produced by the CPU and the fans were so quite after this. I tested the game I was playing which was now running better do to less heat in the CPU, and I tested Rise of the Tomb Raider, on highest, and it was smooth. I havent tried to replace the thermal paste on the CPU as some suggest, but I will, and see if the CPUs Turbo will work then. However, if my games remain smooth, why boost and create more heat?

Greater than one weekThe heat is absolutely a problem. For a $1,200 computer to not being able to run CSGO for a full comp match, this was an obvious problem. Fans spinning at nearly 5500 RPM, cpu at over 80 celsius, had to return this because it was so dysfunctional.

> 3 dayI received this laptop as a graduation gift last August. It worked amazingly for what I wanted it to do for gaming. Later throughout the year, late October to early November, my computer started overheating and randomly shutting down after 20-25 minutes of gaming This persisted for a solid 2 months.

> 3 dayThis product seemed great but everything I wanted to do with it, it cant seem to do. It claimed to be for vr but it only has one usb 3.0 port. To use oculus rift properly at all you need three. The USB c port does not put out video so you cant use a USB c powered monitor. The battery does not have great capacity for a gaming laptop, it needs at least 2000mah more.

> 3 dayAnytime I’d play just about any game for 5-10 minutes the cpu would gets up to around 99 degrees Celsius and I’m no scientist but I don’t think that should be happening.
