I was very skeptical on getting this machine at first as I havent had any Acer gaming laptop before and saw many people complaining on Acer gaming machine but I couldnt find any other laptop that offer more bang for your buck than this so I gave it a try and... yes I have zero regret for choosing this over the rest. Actually Im very much happy with this purchase BUT I wouldnt recommend this laptop for people who doesnt like to tinker with their brand new laptop or have no idea how to improve the cooling efficiency because this laptop gets HOT at stock when playing game at very high graphics settings.

Contrary to the product description this particular version of the Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop does not support the 802.11ac Gigabit Wifi standard. This particular model, unlike previous models does not use the Atheros Wifi chipset. This model uses an Intel chipset which is not compatible with the 802.11ac standard.

I got this laptop, the Predator Sense didnt work. I can not see what the GPU is doing.

Laptop works just fine and fast but overheat while gaming.

Got extremely hot (98c) and stayed in the 90s a lot when playing the game Apex Legends for an hour and I didn’t even put the settings on high. My guess that this is due to poorly applied thermal paste. So this can vary. Otherwise amazing laptop. Doesn’t use the gtx 1060 when unplugged and dies relatively fast. Always keep a charger with you.

Great gaming laptop. Simple to setup and get gaming right away. You can easily upgrade ram and spot for additional hard drive. I added an 1TB EVO and 32gb of ram (max). This laptop can run just about any game of the market now. I recommend removing all the bloatware that ships with the laptop. There are a plethora of YouTube videos that break down how to setup this laptop to get the most out of it. I recommend purchasing a laptop cooling pad to assist with the temperatures. The (WASD) keys which are predominantly used as directional controls for a lot of games do tend to get hot to the touch. An additional laptop cooling fan fixes this issue.

Can play for hours and doesnt overheat

Great product! Have not had any issues or technical problems with this laptop. Great speed, and wonderful graphics for gaming!
