great laptop by far my favorite gaming laptop so far!

For a first gaming laptop, this is pretty good. Only issue I have is the battery. Other than that, the laptop is good for gaming!

All I have to say with this laptop is just wow. Acer has really delivered with this laptop for 2019. Just a quick story, I’m upgrading from a 17’ 2014 Asus G751JT that has a GTX970m 3GB, Intel i7 4c/8t 4710hq 2.5ghz/3.5ghz boost, 60hz IPS screen that was $1500 and is 8.6lbs. As a college student, my tolerance for lugging that thing has been getting lower over the years. Also had some infamous battery problems that were annoying. I needed a good overall laptop to fulfill my gaming and study needs as I commute an hour to my university and stay there most of the day.

I really like this laptop. it gets really hot under heavy load. Destiny 2 maxed will get the aluminum at the top of the keyboard almost to hot to touch. However, the fans and heat sink keep the temps at a safe level. Witcher 3 maxed it gets warm but not hot. There is some back light bleed but you can only see it when the screed is dark. Not bad in my opinion. for the price its a great laptop.

Probably the best laptop ive had! It was reliable even though I abused it by playing all games in max settings and getting too hot. The Kingston SSD inside of it was a tad bit slow and low in memory. The only reason why I decided to switch to a Desktop.

Too expensive

This computer sounded good. There were a few questionable reviews, but as with all technology that is to be expected. However, when we turned this computer on, within 1 hour there was a blue screen with the stop code: driver power system failure. We spent the next 2 hours on the phone with a Microsoft technician. She told us the windows was version 1809 and Microsoft was already up to version 1909. We waited while she worked to update what looked like two screens of different updates. Unfortunately after all that it still didnt fix all of the problems. The technician was nice enough to download the proper windows version. But other drivers were out of date too and needed updating. There is some difficulty connecting to the internet. I am very disappointed in the problems encountered with the start up of this computer. I understand that some things might need updating, but it is not like i had been holding on to this for a year before Christmas. I just got it nov.24, 2019. This was a huge let down for my daughter and for me having given her this christmas gift.

The Turbo mode is great. Just watch out for the Nvidia drivers causing trouble. A clean install of Nvidia driver and all is nice!
