> 24 hourThe digital thermostat is a joke. The other night inside was around 78 and outside near 60. I put the thermostat to 65 and went to bed. Hoping once the room temp. Reaches 65 the fan will turn off and room wont get too cold. To my surprise the fan stopped in less than a minute since it was pulling less than 65 ! One of the pull out adjusting shutters was stock out of the box. And the other one doesnt stay open and keeps pulling back in.

> 24 hourWe have a 1925 one-and-a-half story cottage-style house with no air conditioning. Our Iowa nights can get really sticky, especially with the bedrooms right up against the roof line. I originally bought a pair of Bionaire Window Fan with Twin 8.5-Inch Reversible Airflow Blades and Remote Control - one for the front bedroom, one for the back bedroom. If you do a search for best window fan this one seems to be everyones favorite pick. However, the buttons make a loud beep, you have to cycle through the buttons to change the speed of the fan and the direction of the fans. Its nice to see the temperature display but its a bright red LCD. I only run the fans at night but Ive already had to replace one of fans fuses. Honestly, I wish I had found the Amazon Basics fan first. Fan speed is a standard off-high-med-low dial, fan reverses with a switch, and theres a built-in thermostat, but of the unmarked dial variety - all of which are SILENT! If I want to change the speed or direction of the fan in the middle of the night, Im not going to wake up my husband with a bunch of beep-beep-beeps and I dont have a bright red light shining in my face. Otherwise, both fans have the same fan volume but the Amazon Basics comes with little swing out legs so I can take it out of the window and use it as a box fan PLUS its lighter and less expensive. I also like the way the cord comes out of the fan - its got a little notch to keep the cord from getting mashed against the window sill. Im here to buy another two fans (so each bedroom has one) and then Ill put the Bonaire fans downstairs where the beeping and the lights wont matter so much. The more Amazon Basic products I buy, the more impressed I am with the price and quality.

> 24 hourThis fan does pack some power! It also does it all… pull air in, pull air out… put in a window or use the legs to have it freestanding. Remote control as well. Excellent in every way.

> 24 hourI love this fan! What I love most is that the side that faces you once in a window has the openings for air flow only in the front. A lot of fans have vent holes on the sides of the raised areas around the openings of where the blades are. If you use them in a window with a screen it causes back flow and air comes back in through those side openings. If you are using this as an exhaust fan especially in winter, a lot of cold air flows back in with every other fan I have ever tried. This fan only takes the air out!!! No drafts!!!! I am super impressed with with this fan! The remote is great, the in and out flow is neat with dual blades. That feature would be awesome if you are cooking something that needed some fresh air and needed smoke out. The blades are large and moves a lot of air. Amazon did a great job on design for this and it Ii am beyond happy with my purchase!!!

> 24 hourI got the fancy digital one. It is a fan. It has feets to use on any flat surface outside the window. The feet really add to the versatility factor. Its also surprisingly heavy/solid. Probably a good thing since it sort of will live much of its life hanging in a window. The fan doesnt remember your preferred settings. When turned on, the fan thinks you want to push air out of (not into) your house. Kind of annoying, but you only need to push a button to get the settings you want. But, it has kept me nice and cool on a hot day when I really, really needed a fan.

> 24 hourThe fan blades themselves could be larger. They made the openings look big, but in the picture you can see they should be bigger. Id like more airflow and the bigger blades would help. That or higher RPM for the blades or more of a twist to the blades to push more air. Weve only used it one night so far. Otherwise, the build is reasonable, its light, the pull-out extensions are nice compared to the old clip-on style. It has a manual thermostat, and it works. Id actually prefer it without the thermostat so there would be fewer things that could fail. This is why I purchased a Non-Digital version, we had the electronics to haywire on another brand.

> 24 hourThe fan is alright...it does move some air but not much. I installed it in my computer room window and felt like it just wasnt...doing much. I pulled the curtains in front of it while it was running and it barely moved them. So yes it moves air...but not much. I stuffed a standard oscillating fan in the window and it is more effective. The blades are tiny and the fan is just as loud as more powerful ones. The icing on the cake for me was that during night two if use, it stopped working. I assume the absolutely MICRO sized fuse in the plug blew. I cant be bothered to try to replace it, and also cant return the fan since I threw away the packaging. The fan is made of light flimsy plastic as well and just does not feel like good quality. Window fans used to be made of metal and last 15 years. They just dont make things like they used to.

> 24 hourI purchased this fan to place in our front window in our dining area. I needed something to help move air at night and before it gets too hot during the day. As far as looks go, the fan is fine. It looks okay and is easy to setup. It comes full assembled. There is no battery included for the remote, so make sure you have some AAA batteries available. The fan runs; however, Im not sure how much it actually works. On the highest setting, you have to be about 1ft from the fan to feel any air at all. I didnt expect it to be a big air moved; however, I expected it would at least do something. As far as the sound goes, its not super loud on the highest setting. Once you turn it down; however, it makes a very odd sound. Its kind of like a high pitched, metal on metal sound. It only gets louder when you go to the lowest setting. One other annoyance is that there is no memory on your settings. When you turn the fan on, it automatically goes to the vent setting. You have to cycle it to pull air in. At this point, I just look at it as a wasted purchase. I dont want to deal with returning it as most places are already out of stock on window fans. The search will just have to continue for me to find something better.
