Amazon Basics Window Fan with Manual Controls, Twin 9-Inch Blades

We have a 1925 one-and-a-half story cottage-style house with no air conditioning. Our Iowa nights can get really sticky, especially with the bedrooms right up against the roof line. I originally bought a pair of Bionaire Window Fan with Twin 8.5-Inch Reversible Airflow Blades and Remote Control - one for the front bedroom, one for the back bedroom. If you do a search for best window fan this one seems to be everyones favorite pick. However, the buttons make a loud beep, you have to cycle through the buttons to change the speed of the fan and the direction of the fans. Its nice to see the temperature display but its a bright red LCD. I only run the fans at night but Ive already had to replace one of fans fuses. Honestly, I wish I had found the Amazon Basics fan first. Fan speed is a standard off-high-med-low dial, fan reverses with a switch, and theres a built-in thermostat, but of the unmarked dial variety - all of which are SILENT! If I want to change the speed or direction of the fan in the middle of the night, Im not going to wake up my husband with a bunch of beep-beep-beeps and I dont have a bright red light shining in my face. Otherwise, both fans have the same fan volume but the Amazon Basics comes with little swing out legs so I can take it out of the window and use it as a box fan PLUS its lighter and less expensive. I also like the way the cord comes out of the fan - its got a little notch to keep the cord from getting mashed against the window sill. Im here to buy another two fans (so each bedroom has one) and then Ill put the Bonaire fans downstairs where the beeping and the lights wont matter so much. The more Amazon Basic products I buy, the more impressed I am with the price and quality.

Absolutely garbage. My ac is out so I needed a quick fix to get airflow and decided the premium price to get it same day was worth it. This fan fit in the window just fine. Cord is a bit short for what I would like but I managed. However even on high these 2 tiny fans produce absolutely no air movement. I feel like I just wasted money so I could have my window open to let more heat in.

I am so upset. I thought this window fan would fit perfectly in a room window when you wanted to give the air conditioner a rest. The product arrived damaged and looked used.

The fan blades themselves could be larger. They made the openings look big, but in the picture you can see they should be bigger. Id like more airflow and the bigger blades would help. That or higher RPM for the blades or more of a twist to the blades to push more air. Weve only used it one night so far. Otherwise, the build is reasonable, its light, the pull-out extensions are nice compared to the old clip-on style. It has a manual thermostat, and it works. Id actually prefer it without the thermostat so there would be fewer things that could fail. This is why I purchased a Non-Digital version, we had the electronics to haywire on another brand.

Moves air enough, not like the comparable ones that cost twice as much, but enough. Quiet enough to have in the kitchen or bedroom.

I use it as a bedroom window fan. It is perfect if you like the cool breeze coming in at night & it also can be turned around to blow out warm air from within. Its not too noisy to me. I didnt receive a remote control with mine but its not necessary. I would definitely recommend this fan.

Pros: Really quiet. Get a nice little breeze from it. Remote. Cons: feels pretty light i hope it holds up. The power button is the same as the speed button. So when going through the speeds it will turn off. then when it comes back on the default is exhaust at full speed. So then you need to change that which turns the fan off again so it reverses the motors,in my opinion seems that will shorten the life span

I purchased this for my daughters bedroom and she loves it. Nice when you don’t have central air

No manual of operation. Does not fill the window width, no extensions.

What does exactly what it supposed to do keep the house cool.
