> 3 dayI build computers as a hobby and have been building for over 15 years, and I have seen a lot of progress. It was time for me to upgrade and I was running a couple of Intel X99 systems at home, with 6 core CPUs. These were not the absolute top for Gaming, but with Overclocking, those systems still pack a lot of Horsepower.

> 3 dayPerformance is nice. Good for what it is.

> 3 dayIf you only care bout gaming, then this CPU is not a good value for you. Intel has better gaming performance cheaper, and even AMDs new lower spec chips will outperform it at a lower price.

> 3 dayThis is (currently) a beast of a processsor from AMD, and if you can find software that takes advantage of all 8 cores, itll fly along. On a per-core basis its pretty fast, blowing my old replacement out of the water in terms of instructions per cycle, and Ive noticed a distinct improvement in frame-rates during gaming, just from moving the bottleneck from CPU to GPU, which will be the next upgrade. The stock cooler that comes with it is capable of RGB tricks which is nice, although in a HTPC setup its irrelevant, but its reasonably quiet until you start hammering it, at which point it ramps up to a fairly low-key hum that wont blow your wig off. In fact, with the lid on and it pushed back into the cabinet you can barely hear it when it gets hot under the collar.

> 3 dayIncluded cooler is completely unacceptable. None of the contact areas actually work together to form a flat, level connection to the CPU.

Greater than one weekBuilt my pc from scratch! Didnt have a problem and have yet to have one! Price could be better but honestly i had to build my pc around what processors are available at the time!

> 3 dayNot sure what to add here that cant be found from more reputable tech sites so Ill keep it simple. This is the first time Ive put together my own PC and installing the CPU was simple. Had an X570 Motherboard so everything fit perfectly in place including the heatsink. Plenty of thermal past was already applied so no need to get extra. Performance is great but like I said read actual benchmarks and such elsewhere. Very happy with the purchase.

> 3 dayThis chip is one of the best chips I’ve ever used, if not the best. 8 cores running in the near constant 4 GHZ is real fast. Games such as Squad and cyberpunk are very easy to run with this chip when paired with my RTX 2060Super. Has a low power consumption of around 65 watts which is VERY good for a chip this fast. This chip however does create a fair bit of heat which is to be expected from the speeds and performance this thing outputs. Make sure you have a few case fans with good airflow and you’re all good to go.
