> 3 dayJust wish I had gone with the Ryzen 9 for those additional beautiful cores. This platform rocks! This is an absolutely massive upgrade from my FX-8350 and its so stable. Ran furmark with no artifacts whatsoever.

Greater than one weekI looked at other versions liike the 3900 etc and for the price/speed difference, I settled for the 3800X

> 3 dayOkay jokes aside, I think Intel is still a fine company and Im not here to be more or less loyal to any one brand. Home Labs and HPC are hobbies of mine and I just wanted something with more multi-core performance without needed to cough up my lifes saving.

Greater than one weekRyzen 7 3800X is the best CPU that I have ever had. I have an all core O.C. of 4.45 @1.325V stable. Stock it will boost to 4.525 and will do it on all cores but it hits nearly 1.5V (insane) even if AND says its normal. My system Ryzen 7 3800X , MSI X570 pro carbon wifi, Noctua nh-d15 , g.skill trident z 16gb 8x2 CL16 3200 O.C.ed to 3600 T1 15 18 18 18 35, Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 fixing to switch to RTX 2070 super MSI Gaming Trio

> 3 dayIncluded cooler is completely unacceptable. None of the contact areas actually work together to form a flat, level connection to the CPU.

> 3 dayThis is an excellent processor for gaming. The stock cooler is sufficient even with a mid-range overclock. I undervolted it and overclocked it to 4200 using Ryzen Master and the idle temperatures are in the 40° to 50° c range. Never gets above 75° c when gaming or benchmarking even with the slight overclock. I do also have a case with a lot of fans. I would recommend undervoting it a bit to control the temperature even if you dont plan on playing with anything else. In general I find that this generation of AMD processors are very robust and will tolerate a wide range of voltages and clock speeds, but they seem to be overvolted at stock and run a bit hot.
