> 3 dayLove this game. I really like the crafting system they added! Kind of down about how fruits can not longer be displayed in a bowl, but I think being able to customize the island and set furniture outside is a pretty good trade off. I pre-ordered my copy in July and got it a couple days late, but all things considered I can understand why. Highly recommend this game for people who like to collect things, harvest and craft stuff, or if youre a long time fan

> 3 dayI agree with other reviewers that local multiplayer is disappointing and poorly thought out. All users on our switch console must share one island and only the first user gets to complete tasks. So our youngest daughter gets to try to accomplish everything and everyone else has to wait for her slow speed. And, I have to avoid taking or doing anything that she might want to do so she isn’t disappointed or sad that she doesn’t get it. It basically leaves me the options of fishing, catching bugs and shaking trees. Pretty boring pretty fast. Based on other reviews on other sites it gets worse as the game progresses. Very very poorly thought out. Wandering around in coop mode is boring and irritating. There is little to no play value as the coop players don’t get to keep anything they pick up. It goes to lost and found. Why should I have to buy a second console to have my own island???? Ive waited years for another major console animal crossing and the result just doesn’t work for families.

> 3 dayA wonderful game, as long as youre okay with the slow pacing youll love this game. I was initially scared off by the strange pov, but you get used to it as you play. The best thing about it is that theres always something new to do and that the time/date in game syncs up with real time so you can enjoy the seasonal events and changes. Charming, cute, and cozy, fun for all ages.

Greater than one weekAnimal Crossing has always been part of my childhood, and this game made my experience with the series a hundred times better. The new features that give you more freedom, the amazing graphics, the player customization- it all comes together perfectly. I was skeptical of a few things before, but now I couldnt be happier about it. Though there are a few low points, such as repetitive character dialect and multiplayer, Nintendos dedication to making this a great experience for all players (new and old) has won me over, as they have time and time again. 10/10 would recommend this game to anyone with an open mind.

> 3 dayThis is not the kind of game you play for hours at a time. Just a little bit here and a little bit there. Kinda takes a few days to do much in it because this game is played in real time. But it’s a great game. Highly recommend.

> 3 dayI will admit, I was on the fence about getting this game. Figured it was a little kids game because of the cutesy characters and all. But I went ahead and got it, thinking Id just give it to my granddaughter if I didnt like it. Boy am I glad I did! First of all, dont let the cutesy characters fool you. This game has depth! This game has humor! This game has a cult following for a reason. I would dare put this game in my top five favorite Switch games. If youre on the fence as I was, go ahead and get it. You wont regret it. It really is that good.

> 3 dayIf you like Animal Crossing, then youll love Animal Crossing: New Horizons.....mostly. As of this writing, Im about 50 hours in and loving everything but the size of the map. Youve been given an island to develop....and thats the only glaring difference. Its not a huge island, but you do have room to expand and new parts to access. At the end of the day, its Animal Crossing. You love it, or you dont.

13-04-2025This was my second time buying this game. Ive owned it & played it since May 2020, and bought this copy for my niece, since she loves playing on her sisters copy. I bought her her own Switch Lite, too. Needless to say, it was a hit.

17-04-2025I am a fan of the series and I shave been waiting forever for this game! I know it’s only a day out but there are already so many great changes that I cannot help but to review it. First and foremost, the ability to customize your character is awesome! There are different skin tones, eye shapes, hairstyles, and noses. Admittedly, there aren’t an abundance of options (3 noses, half a dozen hairstyles, 6??? Skin tones— can’t remember) but it’s enough to have some fun. Nook tickets! I thought they were going to be lame like the voucher system on Animal Crossing Pocket Camp but they are actually cool because you can use them to pay off your home, buy things, and probably other stuff I haven’t discovered yet. There are four island layouts to choose from which are quite similar but have a ton of water features which I love (WARNING: there are no bridges so if you plan to build your house somewhere far north you’re not as there is no early access to land blocked off by water). The DYI feature allows you collect cards (ie fishing pole, net, etc.) to learn how to build those items for free after collecting the right amount of items (sticks, weeds, etc). That being said, poles and nets break after time meaning you’ll have to collect more items to build them in Nooks Workshop (free but annoying). Your pockets can hold more too and are automatically grouped together! Overall the game so far is delivering on its promise. Will update.
