Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch

I have never played an Animal Crossing game before! I was contemplating on getting this title because I am mostly into RPGs and Action/Adventure games. Once I started on my island it was amazing. The colors, the graphics, and the characters! OMG. New Horizons reminds me so much of the classic Harvest Moon games back on GC. I love the real time feature of the game. Makes it fun to wake up the next day to see new villagers or a new building appear.

The number of times you press the A button to perform basic tasks is so high that my wifes thumb has been hurting lately. The excessive length of cutscenes to join a friends island, or to watch a friend join your island, discourages group play or play with strangers, and the whole game feels poorly designed. There are regular patches reacting to the top 1% of players exploiting bank interest rates, certain high value commodities, and other mechanics. Nintendo is doing copyright strikes against Youtube videos and reporters discussing these issues. There are fan-made videos showcasing quality of life features that.. its frankly sad none of them existed from the beginning (and likely wont).

Amazing product and I love the game. While the multiplayer isn’t as good as I expected, That’s the only thing I can really think of that’s negative. But that’ll still bump it down one star. But of course, every game will have its flaws. The island and graphics are beautiful, and the villagers finally have their personality back since GameCube and it’s loads of fun! It’s a great breather from the real world and everything that’s been going on. Amazing for my mental health and I highly recommend it to anyone who’d like to live out their greatest fantasies! And if your fantasy is having friends, like I said, the multiplayer is bad sooooo.... I’m sorry. Looks like we’re both fresh out of friendships...

I love this game! I bought 3 copies so my whole family could play. There has only been one special event this year and that was a lot of fun. They celebrate your birthday and so much more. I’ve played all the other previous games in this series so I’m very excited to see what gets added thru out this ones lifespan. Very casual and relaxing little game to play.

My Granddaughter received a Nintendo switch for Christmas, so this will make an ideal birthday present.

Lots of new things to do. Although some of the cool features here are only compatible if you have internet. Which is a bummer. But the new swimming feature and the ability to move houses, buildings and build ramps and bridges is very cool. Good way to pass the time.

The actual gameplay is simple. If you have ever played a larger game like World of Warcraft or Skyrim where crafting was just supposed to be a very (very) small part of gameplay but you spent all your time, bag space and bank space getting and storing materials...this is the game for you. Gathering crafting materials and then crafting is big chunk of how you’ll spend your time in game! (ADHD finally has SQUIRREL!! lol) There are times in the game when you’re waiting on something, like a building or materials respawn and during those times it will help to have a routine for daily activities. Fishing, shell collecting, farming woods, etc. Easy game to learn, even for me at 40+ yrs of age. There are game guides available for free on the internet which makes learning the game easy AND fun. Now, with all of that being said, this is not a game that you can start playing, grind out levels (there really aren’t any), make it to end levels and then beat the game. It will take some commitment, patience and time to get to where you have beat the game. This is a highly entertaining game for me and there is plenty to do, so it’s fairly easy to have fun with and I’m very happy with my purchase!

This is my first experience with this game & it’s really interesting!!

I bought this game for my little brothers birthday. It was delivered in perfect condition, so no complaints on that. As for the performance of the game, it looks cool based on how my brother gets so fascinated over it each time he plays the game. I havent played it, but maybe soon Ill get the opportunity to do so whenever theres an open chance to grab the Nintendo Switch controller, though knowing him I hardly doubt it. (^_^)

Despite all the chaos going on with the global pandemic, they were able to deliver my physical copy on the day of its release! Im incredibly pleased with how the distributor regularly kept me up to date regarding the ETA. The only thing is that I didnt receive a manual inside of the game. It was sealed and everything, it was just missing the manual. Its odd, but these are trying times. Im just stoked that they were able to deliver it on time!
