The quality of this case is better than any other pi case I’ve ever come across in my years of tinkering with Raspberry Pis. I got this to house a new pi 4 retropie gaming unit I built for myself and I absolutely love the heft and weight it adds. The weight of the controller cord no longer pulls the pi off the shelf! It’s also really well designed, with the included circuit board moving all the port to the back of the unit, the easy to use power button, and easy to see power LED on the pi being visible through the smoked plastic on the front. It also has a GPIO index printed under the magnetic lid for easy reference and access to the GPIO pins! I love this thing so much I got a second one for my next project!

At first blush, it seems like a little expensive for a Raspberry Pi case, but once you get it it totally makes sense. This case is one big heat sink and it comes with a built in fan. As an added bonus it moves all the ports of the Raspberry Pi around to the back, and has a physical power button. It comes with thermal pads to connect the processor to the metal case/heat sink, and the fan senses the heat of RPi and only turns on when it needs to. (details of how this works are in the attached photos). Under normal circumstances web browsing/watching YouTube videos the fan is rarely needed because the passive cooling work so well. When a friend recommended the case, what sold me on it was the power button to do proper shutdowns and that the microSD slot is still accessible while the Raspberry Pi is in the ArgonOne case. The only feature I wish this case had, it would be nice if it converted the micro-HDMI ports to full size HDMI, since it already has a little custom board to move the ports around to the back.

The product advertised is V2 of the Argon One case, which possesses HDMI ports instead of micro-HDMI ports, however, I received the first version, which only has the micro-HDMI ports. I needed the product immediately so I had to buy accessories to make up for the error. I would very much like the correct version mailed to me.

This is the perfect case for the Raspberry Pi 4 if youre not using a HAT. It brings all I/O neatly to the rear of the case and the integrated heat sink lowers the reported temperature of the Pi by roughly 10 degrees C. (And thats without using the integrated fan.) The inclusion of a power button is just gravy on top. I should add that the distro Im running (piCorePlayer) natively supports the power button but does not support the fan (yet). When I get a chance, I plan on digging into the code required to add fan control. I should also add that a few of the cases (I have 4) needed to have the fan controller/power control CCA re-seated in the case. The CCAs 40 pin connector is a tight fit between two standoffs in the case and required a little more pressure to sit flat than was probably applied during assembly. It was easy enough to correct. Just loosen the fasteners securing the CCA, apply firm even pressure to both ends of the 40 pin connector until the CCA is fully seated in the case and tighten the fasteners again. Youre then ready to follow the manufacturers instructions for assembly.

Ive had RPis since they came out. Never liked the way the power and i/os were all over the place until this case appeared. Works great for a permanent installs. Buying another one for my garage RPi.

Great case - well made - easy to assemble - easy fit. Nice to have the power switch available. Stays so cool the fan doesnt come on.

I want to, but Im having problems. I started with my RaspPi loaded with an OS, hooked directly to power and HDMI, things worked. Then I mounted in the case. Things power on, but no display. I pulled out the PI and tried to just mount the 90-degree board and try powering on with just that board. No go, cant connect power when this board is mounted. Talked with support, they sent out two replacement boards (even though I only requested the one). With the boards out of the case, and the Pi mounted, everything works. Once I mount the boards in the case and connect the Pi, thats when things go wrong. I either have No Video but sound (most common). No Video, No sound, frequent. No sound, but video (sometimes happens). Everything works (rare). I have tried different HDMI cables, but that doesnt seem to change my chances. I wonder if the 90-degree-HDMI board needs to be pushed in all the way to work, but when mounting in the case, where the screws are, forces some pins to lose connection? Maybe, not something I can fix, though. I really like the look of the case. I like that the connections are all transitioned to the back. I like that theres access to the GPIO pins. I just really wish it worked consistantly.

This case looks fantastic. Getting all the ports to one side is awesome. When you pick this thing up and hold it in your hands, you can feel the quality. Its not cheap feeling at all. A lot of thought went into this. My only complaint is the HDMI ports are very sketchy. A little bit of movement and I lose video. Both ports do this. The card is securely attached to the Pi... I have the same problem with a micro HDMI to HDMI cable and the 2 pack micro HDMI to HDMI adapters that are listed in the frequently bought together section. So I know its not the cables as 3 different ones do the same thing in both ports. So I feel like either I got a dud card with defective ports that shorts out real easy. As long as I dont move it, it is fine... but using this for Retro Pie and sometimes playing a game sometimes movement from the controller will cause lose of video for a few seconds.
