I was pleasantly surprised to receive the v2 case which features full-size HDMI ports and a built-in infrared receiver.

The best case I ever use in a raspberry pi. It’s amazing how we’ll protect and chill kip the raspberry pi 4 4gb.

I watched tons of video reviews before buying the Argon One for my Raspberry Pi 4 and it truly does everything its supposed to. I use my RPi to crunch COVID protein models in Rosetta and it keeps my RPi at 55C at 100% load. It looks great. The fan emits a pretty high pitched whine when its running even at 10% but its very small so I dont expect silence. Overall its great. If youre on the fence, take the plunge!

This case turns your Raspberry Pi into a mini computer, offering cooling, protection, and functionality like Ive never seen. Its so easy to install, and the full HDMI port is really nice too. I really like the GPIO board is easily accessible too, youre going to love this case.

The product advertised is V2 of the Argon One case, which possesses HDMI ports instead of micro-HDMI ports, however, I received the first version, which only has the micro-HDMI ports. I needed the product immediately so I had to buy accessories to make up for the error. I would very much like the correct version mailed to me.

I have two 4Bs with 8GB. I bought the first one in a kit from another well-regarded vendor, but it wouldnt boot reliably, and then it stopped booting at all. I thought it was dead, so with heavy heart and light wallet I bought another. I swapped it into the kit and after many failures got it to boot, and then it ran for days. I bought two of these ArgonOne case/power supply packages and installed both 4Bs in them. They have booted every time and are fine. I believe the 8GB of RAM increases the inrush current beyond what the official Raspberry Pi 3 amp wall warts and the 5.1V 3.5A unit that came in my kit can provide. The Argon unit is 5.25V 3.5A, and it works every time. Now, about the case itself: It is well-designed, quite sturdy, gets the heat out, and has all the ports on the back, which is very tidy. From the front, there is a window in the base that reveals the red and green LEDs, so you can get some information about how the Pi is doing. I had put heat sinks on one of my Pis, so I had to remove them to let the case press down on the IC cases to draw the heat away. Theres also a fan. Cool! Having updated the bootloader on both boards, I dont use an SD card with either; they boot from SSDs (64-bit Ubuntu and 32-bit RasPi OS). They are both currently wired to my TESmart KVM switch (also from Amazon) along with my main computer, so all of them share my trackball, keyboard, and 4K monitor. I am a poorer but happy camper.

I want to, but Im having problems. I started with my RaspPi loaded with an OS, hooked directly to power and HDMI, things worked. Then I mounted in the case. Things power on, but no display. I pulled out the PI and tried to just mount the 90-degree board and try powering on with just that board. No go, cant connect power when this board is mounted. Talked with support, they sent out two replacement boards (even though I only requested the one). With the boards out of the case, and the Pi mounted, everything works. Once I mount the boards in the case and connect the Pi, thats when things go wrong. I either have No Video but sound (most common). No Video, No sound, frequent. No sound, but video (sometimes happens). Everything works (rare). I have tried different HDMI cables, but that doesnt seem to change my chances. I wonder if the 90-degree-HDMI board needs to be pushed in all the way to work, but when mounting in the case, where the screws are, forces some pins to lose connection? Maybe, not something I can fix, though. I really like the look of the case. I like that the connections are all transitioned to the back. I like that theres access to the GPIO pins. I just really wish it worked consistantly.

Beautiful design! Everything fits perfect and it feels like you could use the thing for a step stool or to level your refrigerator, its so tough-feeling. Only two things I could possibly knock it for: 1 - Fan is a bit noisy at full speed (but what fan isnt?) and 2 - Finish is a bit rough feeling, and discolored in some spots, but certainly nothing Id be ashamed to show!
