Bought this to upgrade from Gigabit to 2.5 Gbps, replacing a Synology RT2600ac router. Hardware wise this is a solid router and I got the expected raw data throughput etc. Things get a lot less favorable when you enable parental controls or try to simply collect data on how much data has been sent and received. For either of these features you need to allow your traffic to be monitored by a 3rd party (Trend Micro). I understand that for parental controls, you need access to a blacklist / whitelist database and that these need to be updated / maintained. What I do not understand how a list of sites that I visit helps updating / maintaining such a database. This is even more the case for something as simple as how much data Ive downloaded / uploaded over the past week. Without consenting to the data sharing, you can only see live traffic. On the Synology router all of this was done locally and the parental controls run off a blacklist / whitelist database that you can specify. Additionally, the user interface for the Synology router parental controls is much better (for example, it allows for several devices to be assigned to a profile and then you can set the rules for the profile, on the ASUS you need to do this device by device). Finally, on the Synology I was able to run a DNS server on the router, this is not possible on the ASUS. In the end, Ive decided to return this device and wait for a Synology router with multiple 2.5 Gbps ports.

Decent router to replace what my provider rents out. I pay for 400mbs and with this router I’m pulling around 450 on a wired connection and around 400 on Wi-Fi which is impressive for as many devices I have spread throughout my home. I like the fact I can split the bands and also have the option to set up a guest network

This is a great product if you already know everything about routers. I don’t! They don’t explain how to register the product and definitely not how to set the product up. From all the screens it is obvious that the router can do everything plus some. But they don’t explain the different settings and what the trade offs are. Evidently some one close to me uses the same channels as I am and I should change the settings but there are no instructions on how to do this and what channels I should use. So now I just live with a slower speed than is potentially possible.

Spectrum here in El Paso was always losing the signal, 3 or 4 times in couple hours use. Since I added the router it hasnt lost signal once. Since setup was so easy out of box, I havent had any reason to use tech support and could not rate it.

Upgraded from an arris device that was pretty solid for us for a couple years. But this thing blows it away. I had two access points at different points of the house (running on channels that were sufficiently spaced so as not to interfere with one another) and this one router still gives me better signal across the entire house than the two APs I had going before.

I don’t know about tech support as I haven’t needed to use it but the router is great. Love the speed and no interruptions in connectivity so far. I would definitely recommend the ASUS AX5400 to anyone. I haven’t used the app to adjust game mode settings so I can’t speak of that but I love the unit and haven’t had any issues whatsoever.

No issues so far, my net would constantly drop when I used the one provided by xfinity.

Replaced a ASUS RT-AC68u that I have used since it first was released for sale. That router has held up well and now its time to retire. Still working well, but it`s time. This RT-AX6000 is built to entice gamers but works for me. I run Rmerlin firmware so there is a setting in his firmware to turn the colored led off, so the room doesnt light up at night. Router functions well. No issue with radios and range is much better than the ac68u it replaced. I would not hesitate to pick another one one up if my RT-AX88u fails. I have a RT-AX88u set up in a mesh with the RT-AX6000 being the master and the setup works well. So, if you don`t mind that this thing is strange looking, youre going to get an excellent router that going to stay current and reliable for years to come.

This router is OK. Let me say that if this router functioned as it is advertised to, then this easily would have been the best router I have ever owned! But the router constantly dropping connection and then reconnecting can be quite the hassle, especially when streaming, gaming, phone calls, zoom calls, or doing anything that requires a constant, uninterrupted internet connection. Ive tried everything, beta firmware, old firmware, resets, all the tricks on forums. No go. Hopefully with time Asus will release a functional firmware update but until then, frustration and POS $20 Walmart router for our household!

Don"t Stop the Game! The futuristic ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 gaming router lets you connect more devices, and upgrades your gaming experience to the next level. With WiFi 6 speeds up to 6000 Mbps, it’s always primed for the biggest battles. The awesome styling, with new-look red and black detachable antennas and fully customizable ASUS Aura RGB lighting effects makes GT-AX6000 the perfect gaming router!
