I enjoy being able to control the wifi especially since my family is using it constantly without ever turning their devices wifi connection off when not at home or going to bed. Its got a boost mode for certain things like gaming and entertainment such us Netflix or YouTube.

The user interface is absolutely amazing, the app that comes along with this router is super convenient to use whether its changing the specs on the router or the color of the LEDs, an Obvious choice for AY56 upgrade, The only issue I had with the router is the connectivity to my one specific brand of smart-bulbs (3stone) everything else made the router change seemless and super convenient

I didnt rate Tech support because I have not contacted them. The signal is better that my previous router and I have not had any of my internet of things fail because it lost signal or? What caused me to replace my WIFI router was that my connected components would drop off and lose signal. One of my TVs was a wired connection, and it was dropping off daily, requiring a reboot of the router. The old system I could reboot using an iPhone app and then the TV would reconnect. I tried connecting from the TV side but not successful on any level. I liked the iPhone app for the old system for this reason. The ASUS app lacks this feature but so far I have not needed to reboot to get the TV function. Amazon Key for my garage did drop off and not reconnect and for that I did a restart (manually) for both router and modem. Overall Signal is good all the way to my street and with greater speed. MyQ garage door works better with this stronger signal while Im in the driveway, even through my insulated metal garage door.

It’s a beast and covers my entire house effectively. No more complaints from the gamers in the house too

This was the final piece for me in a whole home network upgrade (faster ISP, upgraded modem, upgraded router). Set-up online was quick and easy, especially easy for setting up separate speeds. The RGB is a nice touch. I expected a stronger signal strength rating with this and it does not disappoint. The price drop to below $190 was the clincher to jump on this unit.

Speed greatly decreased by from 1700Mb/s to 1200Mb/s on 2.5G WAN network Did a few speed test using 2500M ISP from modem to PC vs modem to GT-AX6000 and then 2.5G LAN port to PC.

Everything else works great on this router except for mobile devices. When I am using my phone, for example, when I am on TikTok, it randomly doesnt load anything and causes buffering. Then I have to disconnect from the wifi and reconnect. I dont know what causes this issue, but it only happens with WiFi and not wired connections.

Bought this to upgrade from Gigabit to 2.5 Gbps, replacing a Synology RT2600ac router. Hardware wise this is a solid router and I got the expected raw data throughput etc. Things get a lot less favorable when you enable parental controls or try to simply collect data on how much data has been sent and received. For either of these features you need to allow your traffic to be monitored by a 3rd party (Trend Micro). I understand that for parental controls, you need access to a blacklist / whitelist database and that these need to be updated / maintained. What I do not understand how a list of sites that I visit helps updating / maintaining such a database. This is even more the case for something as simple as how much data Ive downloaded / uploaded over the past week. Without consenting to the data sharing, you can only see live traffic. On the Synology router all of this was done locally and the parental controls run off a blacklist / whitelist database that you can specify. Additionally, the user interface for the Synology router parental controls is much better (for example, it allows for several devices to be assigned to a profile and then you can set the rules for the profile, on the ASUS you need to do this device by device). Finally, on the Synology I was able to run a DNS server on the router, this is not possible on the ASUS. In the end, Ive decided to return this device and wait for a Synology router with multiple 2.5 Gbps ports.

It is a good one, but it doesnt worth the SMP. With 20 bucks more, you could buy AX5700(RT-AX86U) which comes with an additional 2.5G port with all other functionality. If you buy a used one at 60% 70% of SMP, that would be a good deal.

Don"t Stop the Game! The futuristic ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 gaming router lets you connect more devices, and upgrades your gaming experience to the next level. With WiFi 6 speeds up to 6000 Mbps, it’s always primed for the biggest battles. The awesome styling, with new-look red and black detachable antennas and fully customizable ASUS Aura RGB lighting effects makes GT-AX6000 the perfect gaming router!
