> 3 dayGlad I purchased the RT-AX82U router. It doubled the wi-fi speed as compared to my older Asus RT-AC1900. Then used the older RT-AC1900 configured in AirMesh mode. Easy set-up & configuration menus. Also enabled QoS setting on router.

Greater than one weekFantastic router. It replaced my good ‘ole trusty Asus RT-AC68U. It easy to setup, has amazing range and speed on my 500mb/sec internet. It is a large router and it can be mounted on a wall, but it will look awkward that way. I also backhaul wire meshed it with an ASUS RT-AX86U, on the other end of our house. Now my entire house and backyard get full 2.4 and 5G signal at amazing speeds. I love the Asus color changing ROG sign which can be configured from the router’s interface. If you’re a gamer you can prioritize gaming traffic. It’s hands down one of the best WiFi 6 gaming routers. The security features are amazing. It comes with dark web security software which is free and it also has WPA3 encryption, that is forward looking, but it currently interferes with non WPA3 devices. There’s very few WPA3 compatible client devices out there. The GUI is easy to navigate and setup. The ASUS app is a great companion on your phone. You can setup the entire router from it, but I like the old fashioned way to do it on a desktop. I know WiFi 6e Asus routers are out, but there’s no WiFi 6e clients out yet. I think this router will serve me just fine and it’s fairly future proof. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for and that is Performance. I highly recommend it, money well spent.

> 3 dayReplaced a Netgear Nighthawk X6 (R8000) with the Asus router. Netgear router was flaky, constantly throttled WiFi throughput and the user interface was clunky. The Asus gives me near 100% throughput with AT&T gigabit fiber on both ethernet and WiFi, has an intuitive user interface (both on browser and iPhone app), and is actually smaller than the Netgear. The Asus was very easy to setup behind AT&Ts Arris BGW210-700 modem/router. As I have only had the unit for 1 week, I can not report on long-term reliability or tech support.

> 3 dayThis is a fantastic wifi router. I set it up in about 15 min. I was able to name it the same as my old with the same password and all of my devices connected without doing anything. Also the app is fantastic as well.

Greater than one weekInitial Review Mar 8, 2021 Our WiFi router of many years suddenly failed in strange ways. It took me a few days to isolate the problem to the Router. When this WiFi Router arrived it quickly proved that the old router was destined for the trash bin. The user interface of this router is rich with information and easy to setup. Within a few minutes, after just plugging in Ethernet cables and applying power it was running and my problems were all gone. Then just a couple of minutes more and the two WiFi channels were setup. My dozens of WiFi devices around the house (garage door, multiple WiFi outdoor cameras, printers, ROKU, phones, tablets, etc.) were all up and running. Too bad I dont have any WiFi 6 devices so I cant appreciate the speed improvements. However I did record the WiFi signal to the furthest corner of our property with the old router and this new router which was clearly superior. No doubt any new devices I add to the house will have to be WiFi 6 where appropriate. Another thing I like about this router is the MESH feature. MESH can be used to expand a WiFi network. My garage is both distant from my router but it is also filled with lots of metal things like metal doors, metal cars, metal shelves, etc. which all absorb much of the WiFi signal. I have several WiFi based devices in the garage which were having weak signal issues. I bought a range extender which works but I dont like it because it generates its own WiFi which complicates my setup. A MESH is a design that extends the WiFi signal using the same SSID so is more convenient. So the MESH extended signal is still on the same network as the originating router. The other thing I like about this router is it has a USB 3 service. I havent yet but am going to see if that can serve as a simple inexpensive NAS. I have a NAS already but this would be a far simpler solution, less power, no cables, and easy setup. I recommend this router.

> 3 dayThe GT-AX6000 is a powerful router. The range blows my mind and the hardware specs make this monster comparable to a PC. That said, Asus makes some nice software features, but the software falls flat. I would give this four stars if the software didnt have some rather glaring bugs. I would give it 5 stars if the bugs were fixed, and they added more 1 Gb/s ports on the body. The stock Asus firmware which is provided for this router has numerous bugs which for some reason were fixed by some independent programmers in an open source project called Merlin. For example, on the stock firmware in order for guest networks to work properly with internet access, you have to set the guest networks to have local network access also, which makes the guest network pointless. Its mind boggling to me that Asus sells a router for $300, but then cant fix a few bugs and makes their customers have to go create their own firmware to fix the bugs. They could now just copy the fixes out of Merlin, but they dont even do that. Also, be aware that Asus doesnt have a manual or user guide for the AX6000. But they basically copy paste every other models manual when they make a new one, so you can just grab the AX89X or AX11000 manual and use one of those. Which I did, but they started copy pasting these manuals a while ago apparently and dont cover all of their features, like link aggregation (aka bonding). Before you buy, go look at the Asus ROG forums for their routers. They have decent hardware specs, but the stock firmware is riddled with issues. After having bought this, Id recommend to instead get the AX11000 for almost the same price, unless you actually need a 2.5G LAN port. Asus claims that they will update the tri-band router firmwares to use the ~5.9 Ghz section of the 5 Ghz band, which the FCC opened to WiFi this year. Once Asus releases that, Merlin should follow it soon and youd be set. I dont recommend the AXE11000 unless you have some WiFi 6E devices that youll be running in the same room as the router, since the 6E range is relatively poor. I had wrote this review here, and was afterwards sent a general email by Asus asking for honest reviews to help them improve the products and share testimonials. I submitted this review to Asus, and Im getting a warranty extension in exchange.

> 3 dayThe UI is really nice, makes setup very easy. Port forwarding is as easy as pressing two options in the router menu, and set up was a breeze. The mobile app is a great feature. I’m a little disappointed in the range of this router though. It reaches just as far as my $45 net gear that this router replaced..

> 3 dayEasy to setup and install. Provided good coverage over entire condo, even with cement walls. Supported VPN client connection. Adding VPN fusion would be a HUGE improvement
