The filter is perfect. However, I give 4 star because I received a open-box filter at first time. Theres obvious dust and some other things on the filter. Thanks to the kind answers from amazon, I confirmed this is not any usual situation so I replace my filter. Amazon is the best online retailer who can do return/replace so easily.

I recently purchased a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens. The lens came with a lens hood which offers some protection from accidental scratches and such but not as complete protection as a clear UV filter. I was reluctant to use a clear UV filter because I thought it may diminish the image quality produced by the L glass. After doing some research, I decided to buy the B+W 77mm Clear UV Haze with Multi-Resistant Coating (010M). My rationale was that I wanted to provide the greatest possible protection for my investment while not compromising image quality. I figured, I could remove the filter if I saw a difference in quality. I am happy to report that I saw no difference in images produced with or without the filter. I also did not see any reduction in haze which is okay since that was not my main purpose for buying the filter. I have taken hundreds of shots with the filter on and am very pleased with the result. The B+W 77mm Clear UV Haze with-Resistant Coating is a permanent fixture on my EF 24-105mm L lens. I can relax knowing that my lens is protected from those little accidents that can seriously damage my lens resulting in costly repair or replacement.

I previously had a cheap single coat UV filter, and the differences were obvious today when I used both. You get what you pay for, and this reduced haze, glare, and ghosting a lot more than the other cheap filter.

great filter. I use it with my Fujifilm and i really love it. For the price it is a steal!

Id rather clean my UV filter than my lens, and it adds a bit of protection, keeping them pristine. With B+W quality it doesnt affect the image quality. The actual UV protection is a throwback to the film days, but depending on the lens, the filter may complete the weather sealing.

This is a very high quality filter, the construction and workmanship is impeccable. If you need to have the best, this brand is definitely the one to get. When I ordered several items, this was added to my order by mistake by the seller, but I kept it because this diameter filter isnt easy to find and I didnt want to wait. But Im not convinced that you need to have a $30+ UV filter, when I take fantastic pictures with $10 or less, filters all the time. Its your money, you decide whats important to you. For the quality of this filter I recommend it.

Adds protection to the expensive lens. Top quality filter. Will buy this brand filter again.

Very nice filter. I had been using a cheap one that came free with a lens. This one seems better built VERY clear and has very good threads. I can put it on or take it off easily. Time to look at some other B+W glass.
