03-12-2024Monitor has front-facing speakers that are actually usable (if in a relatively quite environment). Color, response time etc all on par with alternatives with benQ quality / customer support & great price.

> 3 dayThis monitor has an exceptional feature set with a fantastic price to match. This isnt a purely gaming monitor nor is it purely for professional use, but its overwhelmingly very good at both. This monitor should be held as a gold standard in which all other monitors should be compared to. Every monitor in the known universe has trade offs between picture quality and gaming performance. Youll have to pick a feature set which is most important to you. The BenQ has a focuses more on image quality and color calibration over pure gaming features. If you are a professional or content creator that also like to game... well listen up, and keep reading! The BenQ EX2780Q closest competitor is the LG 27GL850G. + you can actually buy this and have it delivered to your front door... The LG is either out of stock or overpriced from most retailers. + Excellent for photoshop, video editing, CAD, programming, gaming, spread sheeting, or word processing. + One feature that is mostly overlooked... 144Hz for non-gaming tasks will make common desktop apps nicer to use. Apps will feel more fluid, scrolling through web pages, documents, and spreadsheets is buttery smooth. Even the Windows 10 interface is so fluid. So even if you dont care about gaming... you will enjoy using this monitor. + colors are phenomenal and will blow most monitors out of the water. The LG might win here, but by only a small fraction. If you are looking to upgrade from a monitor that you bought a few years ago, I can almost guarantee that your monitor wont have the 95% DCI P3 color reproduction. If you dont know what that means... well its pure awesome. + The BenQ has great contrast (1000:1). The LGs contrast isnt as good (800:1), grey scale is a touch muddy for my tastes. For most applications this wont be a big deal. The BenQs better contrast will be most helpful for photo/video editing/watching. + the BenQ is rated for 144 Hz and the LG for 165Hz again the difference between here is very minimal for most. Pro gamers will want 240Hz, but on those screens; contrast and color reproduction will suffer greatly. So if you are a pro gamer making money or want to make money by gaming, and have decided that 240Hz is the upmost important feature... the BenQ or the LG isnt for you. + the built in speakers are actually good... really good! Nice bass, good vocal response, loudness is pretty decent too. If i were to be picky... the mid-high range suffers a little. Critical listening should be performed on headphones or studio speakers anyways. If you are able to eliminate an external speaker set by using the built in monitor speakers, the amount of wires on you desk is greatly reduced. + BenQ might not have the brand recognition as maybe Samsung and LG. If this is your first BenQ, you wont be disappointed. + On screen menu system is basic, easy to understand, and yet has a comprehensive adjustments. +BenQ has packed a ton of modern features into this monitor at a great price, you will be very happy with this decision. Downsides: The monitor stand. It only tilts up and down several degrees... does not pivot, does not raise/lower, or does not rotate. It is solid and stable, and out of the box set at an average height. I recommend trying the built in stand for a while, and if it doesnt work out for you, just buy a monitor arm. Great ones can be found as little as $50. Good luck on your monitor search... mine has ended with the BenQ EX2780Q.

> 3 dayI love this monitor. The built in sound is great, saves space on having speakers. The picture quality is superb. I know, the HDR doesnt work, that might disappoint some people, but the picture quality is so great that Im not sure why do I need the HDR. Its very sturdy unlike other flimsy monitors. Also, it looks great and refined. And why do you need 4K if youre sitting so close to it?!

> 3 dayI love this monitor. I have had high end Asus models before that I also loved but found the color a bit washed out. They were great for gaming, but I wanted something that was great for gaming and could be a second display in the living room for sports or games. This monitor nails that. The color on this monitor is incredible. The blacks are way deeper than I expected. By comparison, the colors out of the box and the deep ness of the blacks are way better than my 70” 4K Vizio M series tv. Other things I really enjoyed -Freesync over HDMI - I play on both PC and XBOX one - This monitor does freesync on both and looks smooth as can be in both scenarios -2k resolution works with PS4 Pro - PS4 Pro doesnt support 2k resolution and many monitors look terrible when converting from 4K to 2k or 1080 to 2k. This one looks great. Very surprised -USBC video display port with PD to hook up my MacBook and charge concurrently. -The speakers are surprisingly good. Most of the time I use a gaming headset so its a bit of a waste for me but something to consider if you dont use a headset. You could certainly use these without external speakers and save some money that way -The remote is something I didnt think was necessary, but after having it, I wish all monitors had one. Things I didnt enjoy as much -HDRi - I dont know that this features works as I was expecting. I dont see a huge difference between the different modes and maybe I am not running it correctly, but I dont notice it

> 3 dayBeen doing tons of research for a PS5 and work monitor. Hands down, the coolest monitor I have ever owned. I see complaints about the brightness, it is plenty bright to the human eye with HDR, not sure what that was all about. Even started watching movies on it. Horizon 2 looks stunning on this monitor, just in absolute aww, couldnt put it down this weekend. Speakers are plenty load and crisp, easy to plug in play with no headset. 1440p has not released on the PS5 yet, expected on the next update. Currently, upscales to 4K on the PS5, not getting 120 fps when upscaling (works in 1080). Update: PS5 now running 120 fps and 1440p. Totally worth it.

Greater than one weekI like the monitor, dead pixel after 2 months of ownership is not cool though. Expected more from BenQ. The speakers are also mid as hell and peak way too early. Disappointed for sure

> 3 dayFor some dumb reason, amazon groups reviews and questions. This is going to be coming from a photographer enthusiast and a gaming enthusiast. I’m not going to nit pick every fiber wrong with the monitor but rather what I have noticed on a day to day basis. I’ve owned the monitor since April 2020 First and foremost, this is a great monitor. I picked up photography while I was a senior in high school and I have quickly fallen into it with expensive gear and now expensive set ups. I need color and I need accurate color. This monitor checks that box pretty well. I enjoy everything about it in that regard. The fact that its a high refresh rate screen really helps. I built a PC with a 2070 super in it and a Ryzen 5 3600, I can hit high frame in my games and I can do heavy photo manipulation - I wanted a high refresh rate screen as well to accommodate the PC and this thing delivers. I seriously enjoy this monitor and everything it brought to the table. Its on the pricey side but I recommend either waiting for this to dip into the sub $500 range or look on bhphoto for its sales. The only thing that would drive me away from this monitor is its small port hub. It has 2 HDMI 2.0 (just good enough to drive that 2K144) and 1 DisplayPort 1.4. I suppose thats enough but I certainly would enjoy more. Its not that big of a deal at the end of the day. The monitor stand is also a bit lackluster with no real movement from it. VESA mounts are inexpensive and I highly recommend getting one anyways so at the end of the day, that is easy to disregard as well. The speakers, although its monitor speakers, blow me away. I say that in relation to other monitor speakers. I already use headsets and earbuds for media use but whenever I have someone over, its nice to have a pretty decent set of speakers. The HDRi is nice. Playing Modern Warfare 2019 allows the colors to pop more and keeps the shows I watch a little more lively. It is set to 400 nits I believe so its just barely hitting the marker for legitimate HDR but its great and I see nothing wrong from it. I enjoy it. Pros - Great picture fidelity Great sound fidelity Love the buttery smooth 144hz Meh - Response time is 5 seconds gtg but thats okay. Nothing to write home about but nothing thats subpar Port Hub Cons - Monitor Stand All in all, for gaming, this delivers. For its picture quality/fidelity, this thing delivers. Its bright. Its color accurate. Its beautiful. Its clean. I love it and i’m sure anyone who buys it will love it as well.
