Ultra quiet at its lowest setting. We bought this at the start of pollen season and it works as advertised. Does a fine job and our itchy eyes and runny noses are a thing the past in our bedroom.

This is about as good as youre going to get if youre looking for a small filtration unit for a room. This is a good quality assembly and the filtration is very effective for the size of the unit. I have this one and a larger one made by the same company that is several hundred dollars, and both perform very nicely. I recommend this smaller unit if you have a lot of rooms that are spread out, its probably better to have several of them. The sound of the fan is very steady, clean, and low. A consistent sound that is desirable as white noise. So it actually makes for a good white noise generator for sleeping, etc. Ive seen those going for $100 that are less quality in the white noise department and dont even filter the air.

The unit blueair 311 seems to be working well. However I had to contact the Blueair customer support because getting pre-filter replacements is next to impossible. I was told things that were not true by their customer service representative. Told the blue 311 and 311 auto are the exact same size and so are the filters. That is NOT the case. Trying to get exact information was a game of half answers. I am not sure if these models are being discontinued in favor of the newer hi tec ones but trying to find filters and covers is nearly impossible. (They are the first step in the filtration process) I could not find them available even on the Blueair page. Representative said they were out of stock to try again in 2 weeks how do you not carry these for your customers? No covers for either model? I am now concerned about my purchase from them.

I was looking for an air purifier to help with my allergies. After doing some research, I settled on this unit. This unit got excellent reviews from a variety of testing organizations. I have used this unit for about six months now, and I am quite satisfied with the purifier. In fact, I bought a second one. I put one in my study/media room and the other in my bedroom – the two rooms I spend the most time in. Interesting the electricity usage is quite minimal. I had read that it consumes only 0.3 watts when off and 0.6 watts when running at low speed. You could run this 24/7 and consume less than a dollar of electricity per month. I like the three-filter design: a coarse filter which is the washable cover, a HEPA-like filter and a carbon filter for odor. This unit is very light, so it is easy to move, and it is very quiet on the low mode – not so much on the high mode. Unless your air is quite dirty, it will probably always be running on the low mode when set to auto. The only complaint I have is the touch sensitive switch. Using this switch, you can switch from on/auto mode to night mode to everyday mode (medium speed) to boost mode (high speed) and then off. The problem is if I touch the switch sensor with my finger, it rarely works. Someone in the comments suggested using two fingers, and I found that this works much better. The manufacturer really needs to work on a new design for the switch. Fortunately, this is not a problem for me since I plug the units into timers. When you do this, the device comes back on at the previous setting.

Theres like this high pitched electrical whine? I think its coming from the plug, but not sure. Its pretty noticeable, more than other electronic whines, and unfortunately with both the unit and outlet right by my bed and in a super small room (7x11), its rough and sometimes I just have to unplug it when its not smokey, which is unideal. I cant really return it since the smoke season here hasnt let up yet and Im asthmatic, but I would recommend against this for a bedroom or a room you spend a lot of time of high pitched electrical noises bother you.

On my sisters recommendation we ordered one for our bedroom. My wife is very sensitive to odors and allergens, and, unfortunately, Very sensitive to noise. This unit is so quiet in the auto mode that we just leave it like that. It is right next to the bed and it does not disturb her AT ALL. There is a jetted tub at the other end of the room that she uses a lot. She usually adds a few drops of pure lavender oil. The indicator light very quickly turns red so you know it is detecting stuff in the air. Lol. When the bath is over and drained it doesnt take long for it to indicate a clean blue again. So we believe it is working as intended.

I bought the 311 auto after much research and no regrets! Have already noticed a difference in my allergies in a few days of use. Going to buy another unit for the guest bedroom.

I have a typical ceiling fan in my 13’x15’ ft bedroom, fan set to about medium, pulling upwards for winter circulation. Fan is in opposite corner of where I sit and vape and read and write on this thing, and within like 5 seconds of exhaling a cloud of vapor the fan on the air cleaner ramps up, gets rather loud honestly, though I don’t mind it. It very clearly lets me know it’s working and how sensitive whatever pollution sensor is inside it is. So far, I’m quite happy with it and from what I can tell so far as to the condition that the filter is in, that it’s doing a heck of a job too… we’ll see if it lasts 6 months. ;)

So far I’ve noticed such a difference in air quality. My room smells fresher and I’ve been feeling better. My building has water damage that is being fixed this year, but in the meantime, there’s quite a bit of mold built up in the windows and dry wall. I was looking for an effective air purifier and this one seems to be a great fit for my needs

CLEAN AIR IN A MATTER OF MINUTES: Comparing CADR performance of Blueair models with mechanical and electrostatic filtration vs same models with only H13 HEPA mechanical filtration. When similar CADR was measured, Blueair models with mechanical and electrostatic filtration achieved less noise with less energy than same models with only H13 HEPA mechanical filtration. According to AHAM, air changes per hour (ACH) is the measure of the outside air volume added to a space divided by the volume of that space over a set amount of time.

REMOVES ODOR & PARTICLES DOWN TO 0.1 MICRON: Blueair models with HEPASilent"s mechanical and electrostatic filtration produced higher CADR, lower noise, and had lower energy consumption vs. the same models with only mechanical filtration (H13 filter). Tested on PM2.5 (0.1 - 2.5 μm) up to 90min; Tested on Influenza A (H1N1) with a minimum reduction rate of 99.99% in 60min.
