> 3 dayThis unit turned on and got to work. Been on ever since. Kinda scared to open it up and change the filter. But no time like the present, right? Well, the outer washable filter slides right off. I dont think mine is quite ready for a filter change. Still mostly white. However, I could potentially see that changing the filter should be done by someone not quite so allergic to dust...and maybe not IN the room of the allergic person.

> 3 dayI love this thing. Ive used the 411 for years, and actually treated our home to a second one for the living room next to the dog toys, which can collect dust, dander, and everything else that goes along with having a shedding outdoor pet. Its whisper quiet (so quiet youll wonder if its working -- but I promise you, it is!) and easy to move around if, say, youre painting a room for a day. My only balk with the product is it has a light that stays bright as long as its turned on. As a light sleeper, this can be distracting. I fixed it by taping over the light. But Id love to see a dimmer or auto-off mode after its been running for 5 mins. Otherwise, a terrific product at a fraction of the cost of competitors. Especially with the northeast coated in smoke right now, I can breathe easy knowing my family is surrounded by quality air. Stock up on filters, too! Youd be surprised how infrequently people change those things, and thats what makes these things work so well.

Greater than one weekThis air purifier is so quiet, if I dont see the blue light I think it is off! We have a small apartment and this machine keeps odors at bay. I plan to buy my second one for the bedroom.

> 3 dayHave a small 45 year old 1200 ft cabin in the woods and shopped for air purifier that would work with seasonal pollen, cat hair/dander from two cats( and litter pan odor), woodstove smoke/ash, occasional kitchen cooking pollution. Lots of claims out there in wide range of prices...this one,far from cheapest, or priciest, seemed to offer quality needed to address enviromental indoor air polution. Liked 2 phased filtration, charcoal for odors, and that filters lasted 6 mo rather than 1. Located in sleeping area, quiet operation a plus. Have had unit for 6 months now, and just replaced filter, which was autoshipped from mfg,as i did not trust the cheaper knockoffs that would fit,but questioned getting same results. Set filter replacement auto ship, was favorably impressed to speak with rep in understandable english without waiting on perpetual hold, and registered warranty at that time. First time i fried bacon, smoke carried into living area and demonstrated the sensor/detector in action, works as advertised. This unit has meaningfully enhanced indoor air quality in times of ever increasing pollution, providing better quality of life/living... highly recommend.

> 3 dayI bought this in preparation for California wild fire season. Its not a matter of if, sadly it is just down to when it will go down. So I wanted to get ahead of ut and be as prepared as possible. I got my first test to see if this machine could effectively remove smoke and clean the air of a ~2,000 sg. ft. home. Let me tell you, it was a small local fire that honestly I hadnt realized was happening and after a minute or so I looked and realized the purifier had kicked on (it is quiet and blends in like a nice white noise) when I saw the light had changed colors to red. I asked my husband what the red light meant and we the realized it smelled like smoke outside. We closed all the windows, and withing 3-5 minutes the living room (where we were sitting and our largest open room) no longer smelled like smoke. After maybe 10 minutes I went to the other side of the house to our spare bedroom where we had windows open and it too was free and clear of smoke smell. This is a game changer for us. We had friends who bought another device (its square and a different brand) that I had been looking at buying. I landed on Blueair after reading reviews, doing my due diligence, and determining the square footage it was supposed to work best with suited my housing better. Weve already started talking about getting a smaller unit for our bedroom, mostly because we have a gassy cat that will clear a room when we are trying to sleep. Its actually kind of brutal and amazing on what a small cat can produce.

> 3 dayWe bought this on prime day primarily because we have 3 dogs who shed a lot. We keep up on dusting and cleaning but we were concerned with the “dog smell” since we can only do so much. We purchased this for our 600 sq foot apartment and we can never tell it’s on it is so quiet. We run it on auto mode and let it alone. We came back from a week vacation to absolutely no dog smell, just crisp air. The dogs were even inside the entire time with the sitter. I highly recommend this as it has helped keep our place clean and smelling great.

> 3 dayI like the simplicity and the style. But I don’t like the sound of the fan. It sounds unbalanced. It makes a slight ticking noise like a fan blade is hitting the case, or maybe something wrong with the bearings. This noise is constant, despite the fan speed. From the very first day of using it, I thought that noise was partly because it was brand new and would need time to break in. The noise has never gone away. I regret not contacting the company when I noticed it. If it didn’t have the clicking noise, it would be I impressively quiet. Maybe they’ve improved over the years. I recommend to contact the company if you hear the noise similar to an unbalanced fan. I also have a smaller one from the same company, and it also has a similar noise. But much softer. It’s a smaller model. You only really notice it on speed 2 or 3. If you’re okay with a little noise, I recommend using in the living room rather than a bedroom.
