> 3 dayThis is not your average hardware store steel wool. This is the mac daddy and is super even and consistent. I use the Lowes stuff if I want to knock the rust off of a pair of garden shears or something. Im an intermediate turner, and have done flat work for about 40 years. For my small wood turnings and boxes and such, I use this for the final stages of padding on shellac, or knocking back the nubs on a poly finish. No silicone in it so you can apply finish after use. Love it. Never in my life thought Id be giving this kind of rating over something as mundane as steel wool. :-)

Greater than one weekThis 0000 steel wool is to ordinary 0000 what Ferrari is to Kia. If you have a project for which you need the best, get it. If you are stripping paint off an old pine table, save your money.

> 3 dayGood quality steel wool. All Ive ever used is the wool bought from my local BORG. World of difference between that stuff and this.

> 3 dayThis has proven to be superior to the heavily liked/favored Liberon 0000 steel wool. The Briwax stays together better and wont cut up your hands through latex gloves like its b4 mentioned competitor has done to my hands. Save money and achieve better results and go with Briwax.

> 3 dayIve used 0000 steel wool in woodworking for over 40 years. One might think--as I did--that steel wool is steel wool. Not so. This Briwax oil free steel wool is the greatest Ive come across. Works very well, and it doesnt smell awful like steel wool (that isnt oil free) after the package has open for awhile. Plus, I like the convenient roll. Good stuff.
