Fast, reliable and have had no problems with this printer. I have purchased 5 of them over last 2 years for our 45 person office and they are perfect for that volume of use.

I love this printer! It hooked up painlessly to my network and computers. It prints without fail, and does so quickly. The print quality is great and this model holds a ton of paper, which is awesome. I honestly cant say enough good things about this printer or the other Brother printers that Ive owned.

This printer was defective right out of the box. As soon as I plugged it in, a PLEASE WAIT notification started blinking on the LCD screen and a motor kept cycling on and off. The on/off button failed to work. I unplugged the printer, plugged it in again, and the PLEASE WAIT message started blinking along with the brief motor cycling sound. The printer wouldnt connect with my computer, either. I couldnt find anything about this PLEASE WAIT error in the troubleshooting guide, and when I waited online to chat with a tech at the Brother website, I got dumped from the queue after 15 minutes. There is no phone number to call. My last Brother printer was dependable and lasted for nine years. Apparently something has changed and quality control and customer service are no longer priorities.

I replaced my older Brother HL5250DN with this newer model. The printing speed has increased (42ppm) and overall printer operation is vastly improved. The software (FW) control has been expanded and such operational features as duplex is now called 2 sided with sheet control. Nice feature to have. Its a little LARGER than the older printer (not by much) but does take more room on the table top. However, thats not a problem. The deep sleep mode is great since you really need not turn the printer off. Just leave it on and its always ready to print when commanded. Overall, its a great printer. And the price is LESS than HALF that of the older model.

Whats not to like. It works as advertised. Plug & Play.

This is just the latest Brother laser printer Ive bought for my business. Generally they work ok but this one has exhibited printing problems since first use. I bought this so we can print clean labels to affix to various products, since our work horse Brother HL-L6200DW printer inevitably get gummed up from printing shipping labels but its not a big deal there. This HL-L5100DN has struggled with labels in every respect from first use: • labels in the multipurpose (MP) tray frequently mis-feed • labels are usually coated in a gray toner haze across the entire 8.5x11 sheets. Of course I am using the correct Brother printer driver and label settings. But no combination of settings and/or cleaning the drum fixes the issue. Transitioning to printing the same labels on my HL-L6200DW was giving clean output, until I replaced the drum in that unit and quality went down the toilet. Oh Brother.

Ordered and delivered by Amazon as promised. I presumed it was a wireless network printer. Instructions include procedure for connecting wireless. However, neither software nor printer input provided for connection to WLAN, despite clear instructions to do so. Contacted Brother customer service by chat. He said unit was not designed for wireless connection. Either the unit is misrepresented by Brother or customer service rep was ill-informed. I am reasonably computer savvy and have experience connecting previous printer to my wi-fi for mobile printing, so this whole experience was crazy. Returned unit to Amazon. Next printer will not be a Brother.
