Brother QL-700 High-Speed, Professional Label Printer

Picky in Oregon
> 3 dayWorks as described. It took a moment to figure how to call up the printer to use it, but it works great, quickly, and I can switch out different label rolls quickly to change labels types faster than with any printer labeling system before.

> 3 dayI just received this printer and followed all the instructions. It shows up as a device but not as a printer. Nothing will print. I tried multiple USB cables and computers. I do not understand how people are getting this piece of crap to work fro them as it does nothing for me. I thought Brothers was a reputable brand but this printer is garbage.

Greater than one weekThis is a versatile label maker that comes with software that is easy to use. it has a mode where you can plug it into your USB port and run a built in app that allows you to print labels without installing the full software. This effectively makes this a plug-and-play portable device, which is a really nice option. The full installed software also is easy to use and has lots of nice features.

> 3 dayThis printer works good and really fast, but for commercial/industrial use the consumables cost are crazy expensive. Additionally, Brother makes you buy not only the thermic paper roll, but the roll with some a plastic base that creates unnecessary trash, and increases the price; this plastic base should be reusable or included on the printer structure. I trade this products and I have received many returns due to the high cost of consumables.

> 3 dayWe own a Brother QL-570 and bought a second, QL-700. Both are great label printers. The software is crappy. The PTedit50 software is mickey mouse and features things like when typing text, it disappears off screen on the left. So every edit requires moving the text box back to align with the upper left corner. The built-in Ptlite10 software on the QL-700 sounds great, but cant read the extensive set of labels created under the older Ptedit50. No conversion utility is provided or seems to be available. So every layout needs to be reentered new, a huge waste of time. The lite editor is lite and takes much longer to edit layouts than ptedit50. It looked like we could use ptedit50 with the newer QL-700, but the QL-700 printer driver for Windows 7 64-bit wont install and there does not seem to be any reason why or anything to do. It just says driver installation failed. So we cant use the ptedit50 user library and software and have to use the ptlite10. So, great label printer, crappy software. It is a shame really. Contracting for decent software is not hard. Brother management and marketing have a serious issue with competence. Buyer beware!

> 3 dayItem was easy to install and plug and play with software. Used for ebay address labels with my design in corner. I ordered aftermarket labels from auction site at a much better price. The software was pretty good for designing my labels and can save them for quick printing in future. I have one for ea. product I sell on ebay that allows me to organize my products and ship to correct person.
