> 3 dayUsed this to hone out my 717 SeaDoo 2 stroke. Cleaned up the cylinder walls nicely. I ran it easy the first hour to break in the old rings again. Runs good now.

> 3 dayUsed this to freshen up a cylinder on my Jetta TDI. Had one piston melt down and replaced it with a used one. This took most of the scoring out of the cylinder and the car runs again.

> 3 dayThe only gripe I have is that it got hung up in the bottom of the cylinders and at one point it pulled one of the nylon bristles (with the balls on them), partway out, so that it was longer than the rest. I had to cut it off. Perhaps there is nothing to be done about this, but it was constantly getting hung-up in holes and crevices at the base of the cylinder.

> 3 dayUsed to clean surface rust from the inside of the stick cylinder on a case 580c. The rust was light so I needed a home that would not cut in to much and leave the bore rough. I used a 240 grit 4-1/8” diameter hone. The finish was not that rough but I probably should have moved up to the 320 grit.

> 3 dayExcellent product. Brush hones are a very good thing to have around and BRM makes about the best ones. The price on amazon is inline with just about everywhere else so cant complain there. I used this particular hone on a standard bore small block ford engine block to hone the cylinders before I installed the pistons and rings. The 180 grit has worked great for me with standard Iron piston rings. If youre using moly rings or something else, refer to the manufacturers recommendation when choosing grit size. I also like the brush hones because you can purchase one for less than a machine shop will charge you to hone your cylinders, and you can usually do more than one block with one. The last BRM hone I had did 5 small blocks and still has some life in it. Take that for what you will. Very good product at a very good price. Definitely recommend for your rebuild or re-ring project!

> 3 dayI bought this for my 1997 SeaDoo Speedster engine repair. I originally honed it with this but then found out I needed to get the cylinder bored over for other reasons. I took it into the machine shop and the machinist was in awe how amazing the cylinder looked he was wondering why I was even there. The cross hatch this tool leaves is second to none. This is a must have for anyone who regularly works on engines, but keep in mind these are fitted for specific size bores. If you just need one for a different size bore every time on new engines you work on, it might not be cost effective for you. For me, I would rather accumulate a whole set...so its all good for me.

> 3 dayOnce I got the speed down it put perfect crosshatches on my cylinder walls. About 15 strokes per cylinder seemed about right and the hose still looks like it has plenty of life left

> 3 dayI am no expert on cylinder homing, but had no issue using this hone. It worked as expected and my cylinders are now honed. Just a few seconds per cylinder and the job was done. I only needed it for 2 cylinders so I dont know how durable it is, but it seems like it is good quality to me.
