BTECH, BaoFeng BL-5 Battery Eliminator for for BF-F8HP, UV-5X3, and UV-5R Radios

I plan on using the rechargeable battery that comes with the radio most of the time. But I like the idea of having back up power just in case. The first thing I did when the AA battery adapter pack arrived was try it out to make sure it works as promised, and it did. The nice thing about AA batteries is that they are widely available. Where as the proprietary battery that comes with radio has a limited life span. Also like the fact that the AA pack can use either alkaline or nickel metal hydride batteries, and come with provisions that allow you to use either voltage type battery.

Awesome upgrade if you frequently use your radio! Nice upgrade for extended use.

It’s a cool product for the compatible radios but one drop from waist height and the thing will break on you. I would definitely use this battery as a back to the original, not the other way around.

Works just fine but didnt exactly fit the radio. Theres a thin plastic lip that has to be trimmed off along the bottom of the cavity where the radio fits in that has to be trimmed off. Why they couldnt just make it to fit the radio to begin with I dont know. Once this is trimmed off, it fits perfectly.

Great extra battery life.

Battery fits perfectly and last days depending on what your doing but definitely a recommendation

I tested this at work in a Motorola battery analyzer and it came up short. I forget by how much but it was about 10 or 15% short. still, a lot longer than the original battery.

Great life. It works for hours. Just wish I had an outdoor antenna to extend my range. It is used mostly inside. Do you have any suggestion for apartment dwellers that are enclosed with no roof access. Trying to figure out how to configure an outside antenna with side slide windows. Any suggestions w/b white helpful.

Kinda bummed about it only being one in the package but its durable, long lasting and easy use. Fits my ham radio just fine.
