> 24 hourI will install on Baofeng Radios on 3 day adventures. These batteries extend the battery life to about 30-35 ish hours.

> 24 hourI like this battery for two reasons: First, it increases the overall length of the UV-5R, thus making the radio feel a bit more substantial and offering a better feel in the hand. The 5R is quite tiny, after all, and this battery pack offers a superior grip for an adult male with big paws. Secondly, I like that it offers a second option for charging; in addition to the standard charging cradle connectors this unit also offers direct USB charging with a dedicated cable, meaning it can be charged from the USB power in a car (where it would be downright clumsy to try and use the charging cradle) or from a cell phone charger while traveling. I end up using a standard iPhone charger without having to bring along the normal cradle.

> 24 hourCant complain about the price, i will see how it works, i will say its a bad fit in the required charger, the battery is about 1/4 inch too thin to make good contact with the charger terminals, i had to fold up cardboard and put in front of the battery to make contact with the charging terminals. It would be a good idea to make the battery thicker so it can be charged in the required charger or provide a shim to place in the charger to make positive contact with charging terminals.

> 24 hourBTech/Baofeng are one of the few Chinese manufacturers that I can trust, and that’s saying a lot. This product is great. LiPo battery exactly as described, with 0 cycles. Everything matching 1:1 with product specs, no bait and switch which can be common with custom battery adapters. Crazy how long this battery lasts compared to the stock Baofeng 7.4V 1800mAh. I’ve had it idling for three days now and I still have 3/3 battery bars. Low SWR + this battery = will it ever run out??? Quality is excellent, I abuse the bajeezus out of my radio kit so if anyone can break it, it’ll be me, and if I do – I’ll update this review with. So far, it feels extremely sturdy. Another user mentioned that it’s easy for the battery pins to short out. I also noticed that but realized it’s the same on Baofeng’s stock batteries too, so would be unfair to critique this product in particular over Baofeng’s entire design ideology.

> 24 hourThis is a good product. In the event of a loss of electrical power for an extended time it is very good to be able to power up the Baofeng UV-5R Handi Talkie with alkaline AA batteries which are available everywhere. I had a problem with all (3) that I ordered. The problem was easily corrected. If you open the battery holder up and look down at the half that actually has the battery contacts where the batteries fit, the row on the right side of the holder has a place for two batteries. The bottom battery fits with the negative side at the bottom of the tray. There is a metal contact pin that was flat on all (3) battery holders and would not make contact with the negative side of the battery. The fix is to take a small flat blade control screwdriver and get behind the contact pin and gently pry it away from the metal band that it is attached to. This way it makes contact with the battery.

> 24 hourIm in a remote location, and had to study to find out that the supplied antenna was inadequate. The battery charging system is antiquated; once the battery is charged, you must remove it from the docking station or you will eventually damage the battery. The large battery you can buy separately has a plug to link it to a usb port (cable also extra), but no such luck with the supplied standard battery.

> 24 hourThis is a great backup that uses AA type alkaline batteries for powering your radio. As a ham that never knows what situation I might be facing for an emergency, this is very useful. I, and most people have a cache of AA batteries that I keep all of the time. This means if I drain my rechargeable batteries, this can be deployed with some fresh AA batteries to keep me on the air.
