Greater than one weekThe description is incorrect when stating the port on the side is a 2.5 barrel plug. I purchased a USB-C to 2.5 barrel plug adapter as the BTECH mentioned to purchase gets so hot that it melts the plastic housing around and the motherboard. So when finding an alternative the stated 2.5 was too large. Though when I purchased a USB-C to 1.7 barrel plug it fit, but did not charge the battery which confused me further. I have on solution, but thought this info was important.

> 3 dayI plan on using the rechargeable battery that comes with the radio most of the time. But I like the idea of having back up power just in case. The first thing I did when the AA battery adapter pack arrived was try it out to make sure it works as promised, and it did. The nice thing about AA batteries is that they are widely available. Where as the proprietary battery that comes with radio has a limited life span. Also like the fact that the AA pack can use either alkaline or nickel metal hydride batteries, and come with provisions that allow you to use either voltage type battery.

> 3 dayThe battery is actually nice how it lengthens the area you can grip the radio. for others that and I will be easier to use if you have bigger hands. battery has lasted me more than a day for non-business use. however, i find the hard plastic isnt as thick as some of the other batteries i encountered so i would advise to use in high impact or heavy work areas where you know there is higher risk of damaging it. it is durable though just not construction site worthy.

> 3 dayBTech/Baofeng are one of the few Chinese manufacturers that I can trust, and that’s saying a lot. This product is great. LiPo battery exactly as described, with 0 cycles. Everything matching 1:1 with product specs, no bait and switch which can be common with custom battery adapters. Crazy how long this battery lasts compared to the stock Baofeng 7.4V 1800mAh. I’ve had it idling for three days now and I still have 3/3 battery bars. Low SWR + this battery = will it ever run out??? Quality is excellent, I abuse the bajeezus out of my radio kit so if anyone can break it, it’ll be me, and if I do – I’ll update this review with. So far, it feels extremely sturdy. Another user mentioned that it’s easy for the battery pins to short out. I also noticed that but realized it’s the same on Baofeng’s stock batteries too, so would be unfair to critique this product in particular over Baofeng’s entire design ideology.

> 3 dayI purchased this strictly as a backup for any scenario where charging the Baofeng batteries was not possible but utilizing the extremely common AA battery was. It works exactly as advertised. It holds 6 AA batteries and comes with 1 dummy battery. If you’re using a 5W radio (UV-5R, UV-5X3, etc) then you’ll place 5 AA batteries and the 1 dummy battery into this adapter and then mount it to the radio. If you’re using a radio with a slightly higher output like the BF-F8HP (what I use for all of mine) then you’ll want to fill all 6 spots with actual AA’s, not using the dummy battery at all. Hope that makes sense! Also, an important thing to note is that the first few times I installed this onto my radio, it required a good amount of force to push until it clicked into place, unlike my other batteries that click into place with gentle pressure. After about 5 times of installing this battery, it became way easier and now clicks on just as easily as the other batteries. So for anyone that gets this and runs into it not locking in easily right off the bat, don’t freak out and all that, you’ll be just fine. I will be ordering more of these down the road for redundancy sake.
