> 3 dayThe originally battery might last a day on the trails, but if I was out there for more than that, I had no way to charge up the battery. This battery has gotten me through a whole weekend, AND with the usb charging cable, I can charge while Im on the trial if I need to! No more worrying about the radio anymore!

> 3 dayOnly extended battery for the small baofeng radio, so it is worth buying if you want longer battery life. This looks, fits, and performs perfectly on my little radio. Lasts a good long time too, but i have not timed it. If you want more radio time, you need this battery

Greater than one weekThe eliminator works very well. I have my hand held on the bench with my base radio so I can monitor two bands at the same time. This set up of course would use up the battery very quick. The eliminator saves the battery for mobile use.

> 3 dayNot much to say about this. Its a perfect fit for my F8HP. It means I have a way to get power to the radio even if the power is gone. Im not planning to use this instead of the regular battery, but in addition to it for any sort of emergency (or while traveling with the radio so I dont have to carry the charger too, Im lazy). Im quite pleased with the fit and the ease of replacing the batteries. This is a great addition to a great radio. ADDITION: I also got the car charger recently. It works really well. Fits precisely and generates exactly the right power. It does feel a little cheap and fragile. That makes me worry about it banging around in the car. Overall, Im quite pleased. I added this to the review because Amazon thinks these are the same product.

> 3 dayThis pack actually works compared to knock offs it is able to transmit at full power without the radio turning off due to voltage regulation issues you get with other types of battery eliminators.

Greater than one weekI got this as a Birthday present from a wish list of Ham radio equipment. The first thing about this battery is you dont need a base charger to add juice to the battery. You just need the power adapter sold separately great for traveling or hiking with a roll out solar panel sold separately. The traditional way to get this battery up to full capacity is to fully charge it on the base recommended to charge without it being attached to the Radio. Once charged attach to radioand turn on and press an hold number 0 and the voltage should be 8.3 - 8.4v. Use the radio to bring the battery down to about 7.4v and do a full charge cycle about 5 times and the battery will last longer and have a great shelf life. My original battery lasted for 5 years using the recommended charge/discharge mentioned above. Also its light and not bulky perfect fit for inside jacket pockets.

> 3 dayAs others have reported, the battery pack would not snap into place on BTECH UV-5X3 (same as the UV-5R). I had to carefully file the plastic in a few places to make it fit on the radio. Also as others have reported, I found that the contacts inside the battery pack are poorly designed with very minimal spacing between the positive and negative contacts, resulting in the possibility of the contacts shorting together. Besides that problem, the metal battery contacts are made from very thin metal with very little spring to them, and are poorly supported by the plastic body of the case resulting in intermittent contact between the battery terminals and the contacts in the case. I also found that some makes of NIMH battery do not have long enough positive battery contacts to extend far enough into the plastic of the battery case to make contact with the metal contacts of the case, so only certain brands of battery make contact in the case. Ive spent about 4 hours trying to make this thing work reliably. Great idea - bad execution. I cant recommend buying this battery holder. With all the problems this thing has, I am surprised that BTECH sells it as it is.

> 3 dayThe battery increases the length of the radio. Replacing it with the stock battery makes the radio compact.

> 3 dayAfter reading a lot of reviews we decided to go with this one it seems this one doesnt get quite as hot as a lot of the other ones on the market but we dont know yet so hopefully this will work for us We did buy an adapter on Amazon that would plug into the wall which had a problem causing us to mistakenly not know if the battery illuminators were working correctly , We solved that were buying another adapter Works with baofeng 2015 model radio sold here on Amazon 1. Weve used it for several hours on standby and so far it has no heat whatsoever is cold to the touch We will try listening to a weather station and update you later ? 2. We have transmitted with it very little so far doesnt get hot at all Cold to the touch . If anything changes will update

> 3 dayGreat product, I like that they came with a dummy as unlike other ones. I ordered two of them, and they both could be pulled apart at the bottom were the press tab wasnt engaging correctly. A little sanding and the latches work nicely now. Update: Fire danger unless modified. The metal contact that runs in the center battery channel can loosen up on its own and touch one of the contacts that sends power to the radio, when this happens the metal gets red hot, the plastic starts melting, then Im sure a fire follows but I had the case open when this happened and I just shook the batteries out very quickly to avoid further damage. I am still keeping this product at 4 stars since there are very few options to use AA batteries with a baofeng, it just needs a little modification. I used some high temperature RTV silicone sealant to keep the metal tab from coming out and contacting the metal above it. Its not perfect but it can no longer catch fire. You can see in the photo where the metal heated up where it is discolored on the right radio contact, and the silicone seal i used to keep the piece from touching it again.
