> 3 dayI am new to RVing and did not know about the anode rod until searching through accessories. When I pulled this out of our purchased a used 4 year old RV, I was amazed at how bad of shape the old one was. I understand these should be replaced yearly. I will order another one.

> 3 dayI ordered several of these and stocked them so I have them to last for several years. I used my first one for a year so far and it seems to be corroding at the same rate as the original which is good. The threads on this one must be a little shallower as I have had to use a fair bit of plumbers tape to stop the threads from leaking when the water is hot. Other than that, it is just fine.

> 3 dayIm giving it 4 stars because there is nothing wrong with the rod but it did not fit my Suburban 8 gallon tank. The threads were too long, 3/4 of an inch. Id previously bought a Camco rod that fit my tank, the threads were 1/2 inch long so must have been a different part number. So just make sure you have the right rod. See the picture of the old rod and the 11563 rod.

Greater than one weekFit exactly as needed and replaced a well-used zinc anode about to break. Some teflon (plumbers) tape on the threads and I packed the inside of my 1- 1/16 socket with some paper to allow me to push the head of the rod into the hole and get it to thread on. Otherwise the top of the rod slid too far into the socket to tap the threads. Glad to have this always working to save my RV hot water tank!

> 3 dayI have not yet installed. Will install in a couple months. Hard to rate. The products self destructs like its designed to do. Thats its only purpose- to keep the steel water tank from being eaten away.

> 3 dayIf you have a Atwood 6 gallon RV water heater this is a must it will save your tank. This one was in mine for two years.Looks like you probably need to change it every year

> 3 day$15 is cheap insurance for what could ammount to a well over $500 repair. Campers arent cheap and niether is maintenance on them when something goes wrong. I think the ounce of prevention rule was written for RV and home owners. Anode rods are designed to prevent harmful build-up in your hot water heater by causing the build-up to form on them. Yes it works! While your getting one for you camper, you might want to check the one in your house hot water heater (yes it has one too, and I bet its in need of replacement as well.) 5 minutes and 15 bucks can save you hundreds down the road.
