What can I say? Its an aluminum anode rod for an RV water heater (dont you hate it when people say hot water heater? Why would you need to heat hot water?). It fits my Atwood 6 gallon water heater, in my 10 year old Wanderer fifth wheel trailer. There you go.

Ive only had my TT for 6 months. Spent a total of 14 nights in it. I pulled out the factory magnesium anode and it was almost corroded halfway through near the threads and was so full of holes probably a third of the total mass was gone. That says nothing about this product I know. Im just saying check your anode! My understanding is that aluminum is better. I can tell you the threads on this product were clean and well formed and I feel good about getting good long life out of it.

Atwood RV water heaters do not come with an anode. This fits perfectly in the drain plug hole. Theres some discussion as to whether one is needed or not, but Ill err on the side of too much protection as opposed to not enough.

Super easy to install, just used a 22mm wrench. This is the second time Ive purchased, cheap way to protect my rv water heater.

I have not yet installed. Will install in a couple months. Hard to rate. The products self destructs like its designed to do. Thats its only purpose- to keep the steel water tank from being eaten away.

This is the best price! I use it to add life to my water heater, hard water eats the rod, not the inside of your water heater

Bought this thinking I needed to replace my anode rod because its routine water heater maintenance I see happening all the time but have never done it myself. Bought this rod, it fits my Atwood water heater great! Then I found out that Atwood tanks do not need anode rods, in fact they can be damaging to the tank! Camco is just trying to make a buck. Supposedly it is magnesium so I will take it back out and use it as a firestarter. If it works, its a good deal. So, two stars.

    Greater than one week

Ordered the Camco 11563 Anode to replace the original in out 5th wheel. Owners manual said to check/replace every 12 months. I let mine go just over 12 months thinking we had not camped that many times. I was so suprised when I removed the original and found it almost gone. Wont make that mistake again as now I will check/replace every six months. Oh yes, this was a perfect fit.

This was exactly what I needed for the WH in my Fleetwood Pioneer camper. I was unsure of the size I needed, but this fit perfectly.
