> 3 dayThis is a compact all-in-one printer (about the length and width of a laptop). The software and flip up screen are very easy to use and the color quality of the copier is excellent. It also has a quiet mode for printing after dark. It uses a large deal of ink, but so do all of the Canon inkjet printers. Overall, a good value, but they forgot one thing. There is no auto power-on/off setting, so you either have to leave the printer on all the time or turn it on every time you wish to use it.

> 3 dayInitially the printer wouldnt work at all. I did not have the CD but I presevered. Then out of the blue it started to work properly after about 3 weeks. I cannot say what I did precisely but to this day, it works beautifully. No complaints.

> 3 dayIt is too soon to evaluate this printers endurance. I use it infrequently. So far it has provided excellent results. It is slow in set up, and the series of movements involved in set up produce odd, star-wars-robot type sounds which still surprise me. But it prints efficiently, is easy to use, and is, so far, reliable.

> 3 dayWe purchased the Canon MP480 (all-in-one no fax) along with a new computer purchase late in February so have only had it in service approx 1 month. Set up and putting into service could not have been easier. There was a bit of confusion following the instructions, but determined that the automatic find and initiation was beter than instructions to the point that it seemed seamless. We have a 64 bit Windows Vista computer. The scan/copy aspects are smooth and easy with good interface. We downloaded Adobe PDF plugins for Word so dont know if that is the means by which we can save scanned items directly to PDF but that is neat especailly directly to multi-page documents (Only have Adobe Reader software). They are a bit large in size but efficient. Printing a photo on the included 4x6 print paper was very impressive. Printing in general is pretty fast ... home office with not intensive requirements. The printer is a bit noisy, but knowing that something is not breaking makes it OK. Have not had any ink problems thus far. Other reviewers complained about ink usage. The Amazon $70 with free shipping is a real value ... did not see anything to compare. I read reviews and also determined the Canon was a good buy ... performance wise as well.

Greater than one weekI owned Lexmark Pinter about 4 of them and 3 HP. I like this one the best, even it was less expensive than my other printer. Reason: I never had a printer in which the Ink lasted 3X as long as Lexmark, the other printer nickel and dimes you to dead over the ink to expensive and does not last. Cannon ist excellent

> 3 dayI ordered this printer, I can only see disadvantage in it: 1.takes long to start printing, guess it is wrming up 2. inks run down very quickly 3. scanner does a nonsense with the OCR documents 4.the photo quality; is not all that I expected 5. Too costly for the quality of prints 6. HP better any day.

> 3 dayWow, just what the doctor ordered! She even looks good! Like the closed dust protection features, ease of use, and quality of prints considering the price. There is no better deal on the net! Shes my first printer so I did my home work on this one. Very happy with Amazon and loved the FREE shipping! I highly recommend this if your looking desktop printer in this price range. She is a little loud, so use it before you put the kiddies to sleep. Ok just kidding, shes not that loud.... Thanks Amazon Ill be back

> 3 dayPleased with this printer, and for such a small price, it more than compensates for any shortcomings!

> 3 dayHave used this printer now for two years and it is still functioning well. Other than the usual complaints of high-cost ink and no faxing abilities, my only complaint (recently discovered) is that all functions shut down when the ink on this printer runs dry. For example, I need to scan a document into my computer. I ran out of ink yesterday and received an error from the printer. Even after shutting it off, the error is still there and I cannot override it to scan, despite the fact this doesnt require any ink. VERY INCONVENIENT, poor programming. Still, for the initial cost of this printer its a good deal, especially if you dont print all the time and are conservative with ink.
