> 3 dayThe scanner function will not work. Very poor documentation and support. Ive been using systems as a professional for over 20 years. Ive helped develop and document numbers of systems. The better-name brands will usually install or troubleshoot readily. I have a new HP Pavilion with Vista pre-installed (of course, Vista sucks big-time in its own right.) The scanner on this device refuses to work. Spent a day on it. Nothing yet. I got it because I wanted the scanner. So far, no joy.

> 3 dayThe Canon MP480 works great for my needs as a light-use USB-connected printer and scanner, and as a photocopier. Its inexpensive but provides quality color printing and excellent scans. I personally like the way it closes up with no exposed buttons or parts when not in use. For those in need of fax functionality, be aware that is not included.

> 3 dayI just had it for like 1 month and likes it a lot. Its easy to set up and use. I scan important document often and the scan quality is good. As for printing, the quality is good for a non-laser printer. Cons: 1. May be not very ink-efficent. I just used it for like a month and the user interface on the machine told me theres only half left for my black ink. 2. Doesnt come with a usb cable. I dont know if this is true for all printers in US. In my home country I bought a printer and it comes with usb cable by default.

> 3 dayThe title just about says it all. The quality of this printer is fine. Ive owned many printers in my life, but this is by far the biggest ink hog I have ever had.

> 3 dayCannot believe Cannons dirty little secret - you cant scan if you are out of ink. What a cheap scam from Cannon, a respectable company would resort to holding your scanner hostage if you dont buy their exorbitantly priced ink. Worthless.

> 3 dayi love this printer, it works great. its not SUPER loud but it does make noise but thats fixable since it has a quiet mode. picture quality is good, it actually surprised me. i also like that it has preset templates, for example you can print a checklist or notebook page just by selecting the option, i also like that it has a button to print color copies and one to print black and white copies this works great since you dont have to turn on the computer to choose a setting. it can actually do a lot of things without a computer except for maybe printing a document thats ON your computer but it can print it without the computer if its on a memory card. i was expecting some updates from my lexmark 3 in 1 dinosaur but i was just amazed at all the things this printer can do. Im sure if what you want is a for heavier buisness use you might disagree with me but if you want it for your average home use its perfect, and the price is a total bargain! the ink is a bit pricey compared to lexmark but i purchase the XL and i really dont print too many things so it works for me.

> 3 dayHave had this printer for about a year. Worked well enough until we upgraded Mac operating system to Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.2 - then things started to go wrong. Printer required new driver download and still wont print accurately. Print preview shows documents in correct format, but printer spins an extra blank page and wont print text with correct spacing from letterhead. Also encounter other problems with Mac/Pixma interface, but wont detail them all. Dont know if problems are caused by Snow Leopard or Canon. Apparently they are not made for each other. Gobbles ink, but it printed nicely until the Canon/Mac interface failed.

> 3 dayI bought this printer to replace my MP360 which I had for ten years & loved it. To bad they dont make that one anymore or I would have gotten it again. Anyway, this printer does very well over all. The only drawback is it really goes through an ink cartridge rather quickly which disappoints me because of the cost of them. I do a lot of photography work & the quality of the photos is excellent, just those darn cartridges empty fast.

> 3 dayGiving me an error code telling me ink overflow is filled, disabling printer. Call to Canon support informs me no replacement part is available, cannot be replaced or emptied at home. Gave me a local authorized repair place that wanted close to the purchase price to repair it. No reset code is available to reset the unit. Their solution...well offer you a lower cost printer at a 10% discount. Not the fault of the support people, but in poor design. Very poor design, making an otherwise fine printer obsolete, forcing me to buy a new printer.
