Its not luxurious, nor is it 100 percent cotton, but it gets the job done if youre new to watercolor and make plenty of mistakes. Nice and thick too, so it will take more than a few layers of paint. Ive used this brand for years.

Canson (100510941) XL Series Watercolor Pad, 9 x 12, Fold-over cover, 30 Sheets is not only for beginners, as I have read many reviews from other watercolorists as well. The fold-over pages are a BONUS, and the paper is 130lb., cold-pressed. It is a VERY sturdy paper, which holds color well. I have used watercolors, colored pencils, as well as markers washed with water, and I have been very satisfied with the end product! Yes, it warps, but I either iron the paper or put a heavy object on top that helps. They are a good value for the money, too!

Never have a problem with canson paper its great especially this addition cause you can do so many different mediums on one sheet. I personally get the the ring bound paper if Im sketching and keeping it in the book. But I bought these cause its a cleaner tare of paper.

I’ve tried several varieties and this has become my most reliable daily driver, so to speak. This is very versatile and handles water and erasing fairly well. I’ve definitely used better paper, and do for higher quality work, but this is excellent for many projects, watercolor and mixed media.

I like this paper, however there are a few things I do to make it work. It will bend up when wet so after drying I press to flatten between adding layers.

Great low-priced option for beginners and experimenters. However, this pad I received is no good for traveling and storage as the paper was never sealed to the protective cover (see photos) and arrived dented in one corner. Still usable but disappointing.

Dont let the price fool you.... the paper is perfect in quality and just the right size for a beginner learning to water color. Enough sheets to carry me through a session of classes with more to spare and experiment!

My daughter needed this for art class. Its a decent sketch book. Good for students.

This is really the best value out there for this paper. Less expensive than at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. I’m a beginner and find it very easy to use, with watercolors or blending markers.

Canson makes an affordable high quality paper which is as good as some more expensive papers. Canson has been making paper since 1557. I use Canson papers almost exclusively with Strathmore papers. I use Canson a little more, mainly because of price and the type of papers that I use, I like the Canson textures better.
