Greater than one weekBy far the best color pencil that a professional artist can use. They are worth every penny. Smooth and so easy to blend.

> 3 dayI expected these pencils to be wonderful and they surly are. Nice, smooth and beautiful pigments. I do however, have some issues. 1. Id like more colors. 2. Im color challenged and have difficulty telling the color of some pencils. While theyre named &a numbered, the writing is in silver and difficult to read. 3. I use a battery powered sharpener because it gives me the sharp points I like. These pencils wont fit in the hole. Because of this, I will not be using these as much or often as Id like. Ill stay with my Faber Castel and, Careb d asche Pablo, and lastly, the Prismacolor.

> 3 dayThe pencils are perfect! The box that it came with had a huge tear across at the back. Had to tape it up. Otherwise the pencils are a dream to work with

> 3 dayWonderful pencils! Cant say enough good things about them.....but thats no surprise coming from Caran dAche. The colors are so rich and vibrant and the blend ability is top notch! The colors lay down very nicely on paper.......not too hard....not too soft. Faber Castell Polychromos are still my favorite but these come in an extremely CLOSE second. I am very happy with my decision to purchase these pencils !

> 3 daySo obviously, Caran dAches Luminance set is the one of the more expensive colored pencils set, but its worth it if youre selling your artworks due to its lightfastness rate (why else is it so expensive?), high pigmentation, hardness and durability that prismacolor couldnt rival with (long shot but its pretty true). So all-in-all get it if you wanna treat yourself and itll be worth your money long term.

> 3 dayI find these an utter pleasure to work with, especially due to effects achieved with the Luminances creamy layering and blending properties. The colors simply melt into each other, without losing the integrity and glow of the individual colors. I believe in painstaking use of multiple layers, but the results of layering even as few as three colors of these surprise me with each experiment. Lately Ive been enhancing earlier finished illustrations (in ink, watercolor and/or other pencils) with overlays of Luminance, and am thrilled with the resulting depth and vibrance -- my meh feeling about these earlier works has been radically transformed. As other reviewers have mentioned, the names of individual colors on the pencils are not easily read, but I personally dont find this an inconvenience, and the cap colors are true to actual colors. Certainly beautiful artwork can be made with less expensive tools. For myself, the unique qualities of Luminance add so much to my joy in creating art, Ive not regretted my investment for an instant. I thank other reviewers here for the thoughtful assessments that encouraged me to try them.
