Greater than one weekI am a colored pencil junkie lol!!! I am fairly new to them and only started using them in my portraits about 2 to 3 years ago. When I first started with them I was terrible I had to teach myself to use them so if your struggling with this be patient dont give up and practice practice practice!!! I have several brands Prismacolors ,faber-castell and these I love them all but with that said they preform differently. These are pricey so I wouldnt recommend them to start out with unless you are experienced and can afford them. They perform smoothly and with a light touch you can add and blend many many layers without destroying your paper or having the wax bloom effect unlike with prismacolors The colors are richer and brighter a must have for any color pencil artist or enthusiast. This Blue Carb I created with these pencils. I hope this is helpful :)

> 3 dayI love these pencils. Nice rich color. Great when mixed for watercolor painting. The only reason I gave this product a 4 instead of a 5 is that the embossing is very cheaply done! When I spend this amount on a product, I expect quality in every aspect. One of the pencils embossing of color indication was almost nonexistent! I hope this is not a trend with Caran DAche to cut corners.

> 3 dayI expected these pencils to be wonderful and they surly are. Nice, smooth and beautiful pigments. I do however, have some issues. 1. Id like more colors. 2. Im color challenged and have difficulty telling the color of some pencils. While theyre named &a numbered, the writing is in silver and difficult to read. 3. I use a battery powered sharpener because it gives me the sharp points I like. These pencils wont fit in the hole. Because of this, I will not be using these as much or often as Id like. Ill stay with my Faber Castel and, Careb d asche Pablo, and lastly, the Prismacolor.

> 3 dayI’m so in love with these pencils.. They’re soft & creamy, blend easily.. They were on my wish list for so long. Now that I have them, I’m surely not disappointed.. I HIGHLY recommend these pencils to those who can afford them!!!

> 3 dayThe pencils are perfect! The box that it came with had a huge tear across at the back. Had to tape it up. Otherwise the pencils are a dream to work with

> 3 dayI love these pencils however there are a few things you should keep in mind... 1) these are annoyingly slightly larger than a standard pencil so probably need to get a special pencil sharpener. The only one I found that works is the Kum 2 hole. Its just a little silver one without a case. I got a three pack for $7. 2) these are primarily earth tones. There are lots of shades of brown ochre, yellow ochre...sepia. Personally, I would not buy this unless you have another set with a greater range of colors youre going to mix it with (I have Faber castell polychromos). 3) these are expensive pencils so replacements are expensive. I think you can get them for like $4.60 per pencil at Dick blick if you buy a certain number of pencils. I really enjoy having all of the earth tones... I know there are plenty of artists out there that are super skilled that can make super realistic looking flesh tones with very few colors but mine just never looked right. I ended up using smooth Bristol for the piece Im attaching.

Greater than one weekCuando los tomas en tus manos y empiezas a trabajar con ellos sientes que en realidad valió la pena haber pagado el precio que valen y para completar también adquirí la caja de Luminance 20 Portrait.

> 3 dayThis is the most expensive colored pencils I’ve ever bought and yet I’ve found 5 or more pencils that are “scratchy”. Like it scratch the paper and the color hardly comes out. I expect it to be creamy and smooth. I’m not sure if mine is defective. I would expect with this brand to have good product quality control. Bummed.

> 3 dayWhere to start! I have been on a cloud since these arrived! Speaking of...I ordered mine through the UK Global store and at the time paid 20USD less. At first the expected delivery date was two weeks out but they were sent DHL express mail and arrived in 4 days to Colorado from the UK!!! I was more than pleased!! The packaging on the Luminance is exquisite so no damage at all. They arrived in perfect condition including the box. They are exactly and more what I hoped for. It took me awhile to convince my husband I needed these and so thrilled I did! They lay down like butter..just glide on paper and so vibrant! I work with adult coloring books and the Luminance have really upped my game! I also own Primacolor Premiers and Faber Castell Polychromes and both are amazing to work with but the Luminance are a dream! I would highly recommend these!!!! Over the MOON!!
