Absolutely love these pencils! I use them in my Zentangle art and pet portraits. I love the way I can blend the colors to give depth and eye popping colors. Would definitely recommend these pencils

Escribire esta reseña en español porque no veo que haya muchas,... Lei bastante antes de comprarlos ya que es una gran inversion y estaba indeciso por cual elegir si los Liminance o Ligthfast de Derwent y al final de cuentas adquiri los dos sets completos,, las caracteristicas son muy similares, ambas marcas son estupendas y su calidad es fantastica auunque tener los mejores lapices del mercado no implica que todo lo que con ellos se elabore saldra bien, se necesita practicar y depende de la persona que los utilice, este set contiene muchos tonos para piel, es un set elaborado basicamente para retractistas se pudiese decir, los tonos son muy bonitos y cubren perfectamente el papel aunque el color blanco no me gusta en lo personal ya que algunos dicen que es enrealidad blanco pero cuesta demaciado trabajo que el color sobre salga por encima de otro. Las capas se manejan muy bien mientras no apliques el blender ya que si lo aplicas antes de agregar otra capa, esta ultima ya no queda muy bien marcada y comienta a retirar el color o al menos eso me paso a mi aunque estaba haciendo muchas pruebas pero en realidad creo que si necesitas colores muy buenos y duraderos y el precio no es problema te recomiiendo ambas marcas tanto el set de Caran Dache y el set de Derwent con ambos podras hacer maravillas..

Well what can I say that has not already been said. Nice colors, vibrant deep colors. If I had one wish...it would be more purples and pinks, they seem to be sadly lacking, along with some soft pastel colors and that would make a perfect palette...maybe someday they may make a set with all those missing colors

I got these because their color palette is so different from Prismacolors 150 set (which are also FANTASTIC pencils!). I wasnt sure how well the Luminance pencils would work with Prismacolors. Turns out it was a marriage made in heaven! They blend together beautifully!! And the quality of how the CarandAche pencils are made are far superior to Prismacolors. Dont get me wrong... Prismacolors are rich beautiful pigments, but whoever manufactures them doesnt take the time to use quality wood or quality control to make sure the pencils get to us in great shape. CarandAche on the other hand uses quality wood with their rich beautiful pigments. CarandAche takes the time to make sure they are made well and ships them in boxes with plenty of padding to keep them safe. Definitely worth the high price tag! My only minor complaint is that I wish there was a bigger set of Luminance pencils available. I love Luminances... they are creamy, rich pigments that are smooth and easy to blend with!

I was expecting these to be exceptional, but so far one of the pencils (Raw Umber) has an impurity which scratches the paper and I have had to re-order that colour to complete the artwork.

Caran d Ache Luminance colored pencils are high quality pencils the professionals artists are using. It is worth the price.

The colors blend easily, and are easy to lay down smooth, even colors.

These are in the top three pencils on the market. Caren Dache makes excellent products. Theyre a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Theyre smooth, and heavy pigment to boot. If you cant afford the whole set, then just get a couple of pencils, especially the white. Highly recommended for serious colored pencil artists.

I have tried different good brands of color pencils and Caran d’Ache work best for me. Also Caran d’Ache Pablo are great for details and have amazing ranch of colors and shades. I love them!
