Greater than one weekThe colors blend easily, and are easy to lay down smooth, even colors.

> 3 dayI liked the blending with these pencils, they are creamy and not subject to wax build up. However, they don’t have the range of color Polychromos and Prismacolor offer. They’re short on green, pink and peach tones and reds. They are expensive. Prismacolor remains my go to pencils. I used these pencils for the drawings above. There wasn’t deep greens in the palette for the iris. The whites and cream tones are bright on toned paper. There is a nice range of brown tones - see rabbit and dog.

> 3 dayI’ve decided to try out this brand because Ive heard so much about the white color being the best. Bought it and fell in love with it because of its true white. Decided to buy this set after that. Loving it so far. I use it along with my poly set too. Never going back to anything else.

07-06-2025Where to start! I have been on a cloud since these arrived! Speaking of...I ordered mine through the UK Global store and at the time paid 20USD less. At first the expected delivery date was two weeks out but they were sent DHL express mail and arrived in 4 days to Colorado from the UK!!! I was more than pleased!! The packaging on the Luminance is exquisite so no damage at all. They arrived in perfect condition including the box. They are exactly and more what I hoped for. It took me awhile to convince my husband I needed these and so thrilled I did! They lay down like butter..just glide on paper and so vibrant! I work with adult coloring books and the Luminance have really upped my game! I also own Primacolor Premiers and Faber Castell Polychromes and both are amazing to work with but the Luminance are a dream! I would highly recommend these!!!! Over the MOON!!

> 3 dayAmazing quality. They last a long time, they almost never break and the white as well as the black are the best ones I ever used.

> 3 dayI first noticed these pencils when I saw beautiful artwork created with them. They just seemed to glow. I saved up and was able to purchase the full set. I had read reviews saying these were as buttery as Prismas...thats not true, they actually feel a bit more like a pastel pencil, to be honest. BUT, with that said, they layer non stop...I havent found the end to it, to be honest. They will layer, and layer and layer. You can blend beautifully with them. They lay color down in full saturation really quickly, so you can finish your pages quicker than with other pencils, at least the ones Ive tried (prismas and polychromos). The look is as expected...pictures just pop with a nice, warm glow.

> 3 dayThese pencils ARE of a very high quality, theres no denying it. However, the wood smell is a bit overpowering (compared to Prismacolor which I just get a faint whiff of occasionally) and even though I am just using them for my adult coloring books, and am not a professional, to my analytical eyes and hands, I really like them but I like Prismacolor better (and Prismacolor has a better black + 2 neon colors). The wood smell is why Im taking 1 star off; otherwise, the fact that i like Prismacolor is just a personal preference and these are also top notch. Prismacolor also gives double the colors for a better price, and I realize its not all about the cheapest but I really think Prismacolor is better.

> 3 dayExpensive yes. But if you’re serious about coloring/being a colorist, you have to have these. They’re amazing. sturdy, tips don’t break off, vibrant, smooth, blendable and layerable. Buy them!

> 3 dayI told myself that I would not buy these pricey, lightfast colored pencils since taking up color book coloring these past few months. However, I used to be an artist years prior and so I was intrigued by the Luminance portrait set of pencils, which are not duplicated in the full 76 count line by the way. I was so impressed with their layering and blending capabilities that I found myself using them on other types of pictures as well as portraits. I love using Caran dAche Neocolor I and II and found outstanding pigmentations in the Luminance colored pencils too. So now I own the full set of Lumies and I am so pleased with them. Is lightfastness necessary for a color book colorist, not as far as I am concerned. They are an investment for sure, but my creativity is important to me and so I enjoy using pleasing tools on extraordinary artists illustrations. These are beautifully constructed instruments meeting Caran dAche quality standards. The only complaint that I have would be some of the color names printed on the barrel are hard to read, but thats irrelevant, given the beautiful performance of the pencils.
