> 3 dayThe absolute best professional colored pencil on the market. Worth every single penny!!! Last so much longer than Prismacolor its not hardly comparable... these draw like a dream... they can be a touch soft tipped so I find I use my Faber Castell Poloychromos still for fine point work. They work wonderfully together even tough one is wax based and one oil based... just delightful pencils in every way... even the tin they come in is sturdy and comfortable to work with compared to Prismacolors flimsy pencil trays.

> 3 dayThere is no question about the quality of the pigments of these pencils. The color selection, however is limited, subdued. ( like paintings in an old art gallery youve dreamed of visiting, once nose to nose with the original you find its old and grey, freyed, corrugated because of the many paintings beneath. Reading about the formulation of these pencil cores one envisions color as true as technicolor. Once in hand its like looking through a dirty grimy filter, the colors are decrepit, dingy. With more vibrant colors it is always possible to dampen their brilliance with greys and browns but how is it possible to increase a pencils intensity except by darkening the background, the contrast. Monet Im not! As received, the wood casing of #810 was split along one third of the length of the pencil. This does not bode well for the durability of the set, the likelihood of surviving sharpening seems questionable.

> 3 dayI expected these pencils to be wonderful and they surly are. Nice, smooth and beautiful pigments. I do however, have some issues. 1. Id like more colors. 2. Im color challenged and have difficulty telling the color of some pencils. While theyre named &a numbered, the writing is in silver and difficult to read. 3. I use a battery powered sharpener because it gives me the sharp points I like. These pencils wont fit in the hole. Because of this, I will not be using these as much or often as Id like. Ill stay with my Faber Castel and, Careb d asche Pablo, and lastly, the Prismacolor.

> 3 daySo obviously, Caran dAches Luminance set is the one of the more expensive colored pencils set, but its worth it if youre selling your artworks due to its lightfastness rate (why else is it so expensive?), high pigmentation, hardness and durability that prismacolor couldnt rival with (long shot but its pretty true). So all-in-all get it if you wanna treat yourself and itll be worth your money long term.

> 3 dayi love these pencils. so smooth. packaged in a nice holder which holds each pencil individually. they are expensive but dont waste time on other pencils. go for the best. i have to say that they were sent in a box with no air pillows or other packing materials and i was worried that they would be broken but nope! their holder kept them whole.
