Padding is just on one side of sleeve. The inside. Nothing protecting laptop from outside portion of the laptop sleeve (I.e., the back of the bag.

Nice bag. I like the way it lays regardless of how much is in it. I used it to move office items and it handled an overstuffed 4 binder and a laptop with ease.

I have been using the same model TImbuk2 messenger bag as a briefcase to commute on my motorcycle for several years. It has become worn so I decided to replace it with the same model. This is the worst de-contenting I have ever seen on a product. I couldnt transfer all of the contents from the old bag to the new because of the lack of practical features. The old bag had a designated laptop compartment where I could also keep cords. The new one just has a divider. The old bag had a carry handle. The new one only has the shoulder strap. The old one had an outside pocket where I kept my work ID. The new one doesnt. The old one had much larger, more useful pockets. The outside tag is especially ridiculous. It says Timbuk2 San Francisco, as if they are proud of the clowns that made the decision to make this bag less practical. The inside tag indicates it was made in Vietnam. I think they could have afforded a few more dollars in materials and labor to produce a practical bag. The next time I need a similar bag, I probably wont choose Timbuk2.

Ive bought this bag for work. I put my laptop, the charger, a jacket and food jar and theres still enough room for a tee and pants. The color is awesome. While choosing, I referred to my desire to be noticeable while on a road (bicycle is my main transport). As of the fabric, its polyester, durable and waterproof. Everything was dry after a rain got me. I think, this bag is good for a day or a weekend travel and is Ive of the best for commuting. It has enough compartments for small things and even a keychain

I love this messenger bag, it looks small (I got the medium) but it holds a good amount. I literally fit my surface pro 4, mouse, surface charger, Nintendo switch, an e reader, water bottle, sunglasses, Bluetooth Bose earphones, wallet, and other small items. There is still room to spare. I like the sling, it is awesome, you can adjust it really easy to make it snuggle up to your body nice and tight or let it hang down to the waist. The napoleon pocket is useful. It isnt completely waterproof because theres obviously some crack, but this bag does have this lip system that makes it almost impossible for water to squeeze in and it is lined on the inside to keep water from soaking in. I will be buying another in the near future, more than likely the large and the especial or the stark (because the clips look cool).

Once again another great bag from Timbuk2. They make em here in the USA and the quality is superb. The strap on this thing is REALLY comfortable and thats a biggie with me. It has storage and pockets galore, but I did knock a star of for a few minor things, none of which are an issue on their own: I would have like a couple more real pockets inside, seems to have a good number of slot-style, more than I need. Zippered real pockets are more useful and a couple more would have been a tad better. Also, the water bottle holder design will probably only work if your bag is fairly full and a bit heavy, otherwise it makes a mostly empty bad list like a ship. Nothing major, still a great and useful bag. HOWEVER, one thing to note: its called a medium but it can probably fit a private plane in here if you removed the landing gear. Seriously, its BIG, bigger than what my conception of a medium bag would be. If you have a 13 MacBook and a few other everyday things to haul around, go for... Read more
