Works well, is basically a coated cable which slides into a stopper slot on the attachment pads. Deters very well. If someone truly wants to get past the lock, the could probably just use a putty knife to pry it, but it would probably be obvious it was tampered with. Note: It may be material to some to know that if the curve of the fridge door edge is wide enough, the flatness and rigidity of the plastic base my not allow it to adhere completely and/or that may in turn lead the lock loops not reaching far enough to line up ideally. Key: dry fit before removing the adhesive protectors. The arms Do bend enough for me and they are easily removed from the bases if you decide that you dont want to us le the lock for a while. Would recommend for sure. Kids cant sneak in to boost the summer ice cream like they have been, which is why I bought it.

I remember reading the reviews for this lock because I was skeptical about its strength and durability. Like myself most who purchased it had a child with special needs and I could totally relate to their issues. That gave me enough comfort to buy it snd I was not disappointed. I ended up buying another one for the deep freezer later. I had mine for over 2 years and never had a problem with it. In fact, when I moved I could not get the thing off my landlords fridge lol. It bonds very well. You would think it was bolted on the fridge. I highly recommend this refrigerator lock.

My cat decided to start jumping from the top of the fridge to the floor. On the way down, she would somehow knock the freezer open. So this was suggested to me. No more freezer door standing wide open. That is what I wanted and it works great.

This isnt really a lock. I mean it is a stick on lock. However, it looks secure and keeps honest people out. It serves its purpose for me. Im happy with it.

I really like these latches! I have a beautiful freezer in my garage. The bottom portion is the freezer and the top portion can be used as additional freezer or turned down to use as a spare refrigerator when needed. I have rented out a room in my house and given the top of the freezer set as a refrigerator to my tenant. He loves that he gets the whole thing to himself, especially after his last place where he was given a 10- inch square portion of shelf. Unfortunately, he has a bad habit of opening my freezer portion (he uses the freezer inside the house so has nothing in this freezer) and not pushing it shut all the way. Twice, I have discovered it left open and had to throw away all of the freezer contents! I was not happy. A friend mentioned locking the bottom portion with an outside lock and I cant believe this didnt occur to me. I was a little concerned that it would not adhere to the front door of the freezer because it is textured with a diamond plate design, so it is not completely flat. It worked perfectly and I now keep it locked all the time. I love that my tenant cannot accidentally open it now. He wouldnt steal from me, but he is extremely absent minded and I do not want to go through another hassle of replacing everything again.

Elderly parent with Dementia plus Diabetes need I say more? When said individual is determined you’d be surprised what can be figured out and after all the frozen food purchased during COVID almost went bust this beautiful lock came on board! “Is it broken?” meaning the refrigerator as he had left the freezer door open to defrost straining the unit, a twinkle in the eye. No incidents in five months as everything is always locked up safely and securely. Researched many of the other locks and this is the one I picked. Made sure to follow installation directions correctly and asked for assistance with adhesion pressure from a strong hand. Frozen foods are now safe and the unit as a whole is operating not being strained by any saboteur.

I bought this a few years ago to keep my autistic son out of the fridge. Its still holding strong but we just bought a stand alone freezer and now I need another, its sitting in my cart until I can buy it on payday. Im still a little worried about how Im getting it off our rental fridge, but Ill figure that out when its time to move. I hope some prying and goo gone will work, if it doesnt they can charge me for it as this has easily saved the cost of the extra charge, or they can keep it on there and let the next family have it. Follow the directions! Clean surface with alcohol, apply adhesive pad by itself and apply pressure for a good minute on each pad before adding arms and lock. Update more than a year after my second purchase: my son is now 15 and this has held strong for 4 years now. I put the second one on backwards and it still works though the bar doesnt stay in place as well when going opening and closing my freezer, but that is my error and not a product problem. Like I said before, follow the directions and itll work fine.
